Two things:
1) The ceiling for the team over the next 5 years, assuming we re-sign Kyrie, just got higher.
The opposite is true. The ceiling just got lower.
Not even close to true. Kyrie can actually play both sides of the ball (see the 2016 playoffs -
even if he doesn't always do that), and he doesn't present an easy mismatch target against literally every team in the league (think the Wizards series when IT was absolutely abused by whoever he was guarding).
Kyrie is also every bit as good of an offensive player as IT, if not better. He's also significantly younger.
