Just for kicks...what do you think?

healthy roster vs healthy roster

On a side note can't wait for...

-Lebrons wheels start falling off  (1 to  3 years) Celtics should be peaking.... and also

- GSW may not look the same (unable to afford multiple Thompson, Green, Durant next contracts).  Bench should be depleted.

I'll say 2-3.  I look forward to seeing jpotter say 3-4.  His optimism is starting to rub off because he continues to be right.

I agree...  Hayward alone was big vs the Clippers and performed very well vs GSW in the playoffs

Not an easy task to have to play against Durant on both ends but he held his own

now add Horford, IT4 plus a stronger supporting cast ....  it will be fun to see what happens

last year everyone knew the Celtics would be lucky to win 1 or 2 vs the Cavs in the playoffs.   don't get that feeling anymore

I will say of the 3 sports I follow regularly Lebron James is probably the first player I have felt like people didn't believe was subject to a normal age curve. He is going to be 33 in December! Even a little slippage from him and we can destroy them.

I went with 3. I doubt in another series against the Cavs, they shoot the lights out in 4 games again!

Are they the oldest team in the history of the league? Jefferson 36, Lebron 33, Calderon 35, Korver  36, Smith turning 32. Yikes.

yes I agree

And we will see if Ainge messed up or pulled off the rabbit out of the hat again with the

AB for Morris trade

This team won't have that reliable guy to guard Irving.....   yet AB didn't do a great job on Irving in the playoffs.   Ainge prob feels comfortable enough with Rozier or Smart on Irving to try to slow him down

Morris though could at least slow down Lebron.  Try to intimidate him a bit.  Could also switch and guard Love.

Spurs first title was Duncan and the next 7 players all in their 30's and most well into their 30's   the Bulls second 3 peat the 3 best players all in their 30's and by the end well into their 30's.

You keep bringing up the age of role players (and Lebron) and continually ignore the fact that 3 of their 4 best players are very much in their prime.  Teams win and lose based on their best players not their role players and the Cavs still have the best player in a series with Boston by a very large margin and arguably the 2nd best player in the series as well.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

I picked 4 since there was no option for 5.   ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

It's all going to depend on what the Cavs do between now and the playoffs. If they reload with some newer talent with trades and LEbron is happy, I say 2-3 games.

BUT

If they stand pat, like it sounds like they are doing and Lebron goes into pity mode. I can see the C's winning the series if LEbron quits on Cleveland. Kinda like he did right before he left for Miami.

It still all has to line up for that to happen. But DA has put a team together that would have a better chance if the opportunity pops up to pounce on a weakened Cavs team. Hopefully the young guy's learning curve is a fast one.

You are so far denial about this we just can't have a reasonable conversation about it. Do me a favor see how many reviews of their off-season you can find that doesn't mention this issue.

Edit: the cavs were the oldest team in the league last year by .75 years. The second oldest team, the clippers got rid of a 37 year old Crawford, 39 year old Paul pierce and even Chris Paul was no spring chicken. Meanwhile, the brought in a 35 year old backup point guard that couldn't guard a chair 5 years ago and brought back aincient Korver and Jefferson.

A fitting end. LeBron James has never lost in the Eastern Conference playoffs since 2010 against the #4 seeded Boston Celtics.

It would be fitting if he did lose to the Celtics next May, and he bolts for the Wizards or for the Lakers.

Why not 4?
It's a team game, celtics have great chemistry, and only looking to get better, HCA most likely will again be in our favor.
The celtics had an awsome offseason, while the cavs don't even have a Gm.
Bron will br Bron, but we are as well equiped as anyone to deal with him now. Morris, brown, tatum, smart...

4.

I think this C's team can beat the Cavs in 7 games, especially with HCA.
