Why not 4?
It's a team game, celtics have great chemistry, and only looking to get better, HCA most likely will again be in our favor.
The celtics had an awsome offseason, while the cavs don't even have a Gm.
Bron will br Bron, but we are as well equiped as anyone to deal with him now. Morris, brown, tatum, smart...
plus lebron  and his team get older. The Celtics average age this year I believe decreased by 2 years

Are they the oldest team in the history of the league? Jefferson 36, Lebron 33, Calderon 35, Korver  36, Smith turning 32. Yikes.
Spurs first title was Duncan and the next 7 players all in their 30's and most well into their 30's   the Bulls second 3 peat the 3 best players all in their 30's and by the end well into their 30's.

You keep bringing up the age of role players (and Lebron) and continually ignore the fact that 3 of their 4 best players are very much in their prime.  Teams win and lose based on their best players not their role players and the Cavs still have the best player in a series with Boston by a very large margin and arguably the 2nd best player in the series as well.
In 2011 when Miami finally dethroned the Cs as being the king of the east the big 3s wheels were about to fall off and we were relying on Rondo already by then. PP was 33 KG was 34 and Allen was 35.
Yes eventually age will beat these Cavs.
GH was almost as dominant in the last playoffs and will continue to improve with his next best 5 yrs all invested in the Cs...same with IT and factor in the kids who are eager and we have that recipe to take down the Cavs.

Maybe some of us haven't pay attention but this Celtics team is way much better than last season.
We have length, we have muscle AND we have an allstar complete player who can create his own shot.
As a result, this team is better at rebounding, much better on the defense event (as a team).
And most importantly, with Hayward threat, no more double or triple on IT. I'm not even putting into the equation any rookies or Brown, Rozier that could improve a lot (that's bonus).

Translation :
- Better defense
- Better offense

That's not optimistic to think we have a 50% chance to win vs the Cavs. That's realistic.
Therefore this roster can win 4 games vs the cavs in the playoffs.

I think we are a better team than we were on paper.   But Defense isn't one of those areas that I think we improved in.   Losing Bradley hurts in that regard but we should be better in offense.

Lebron is ready to jump ship .  His heart is not into another cavs season without hope of a title. He feels imprisoned on a team he can't win a title without major injury to GS.

we all know how Lebron coasts though a season,  mostly slacks unless its a meaning ful game towards a title.  i think he takes the year off resting and staying fit on the Cavs .

Too late for him to jump ship or rebuild the Cavs strong enough to defeat the Western conference .

I think LeTrickster goes though the motions of a season , rests up and uses the time to plan his next super team location .  Gathering his allies , watching the season unfold , then bolts to another team. .

A series win is possible , if Lebron thinks he can't beat the Western s best ,  I don't see him expending his precious body anymore like he used to , to win a hard battle with Celtics to be destoyed again by GS.    James does not want to go to battle anymore with at least even odds in terms of talent.

i think Celtics win the east this year .  And critics will say Lebrons heart was not in the series , he was leaving all along anyway,

4.

I think this C's team can beat the Cavs in 7 games, especially with HCA.

We CAN beat the Cavs in a series. Whether we do is a different story.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

They are way more equipped to play Cleveland this year. Not saying they will win because the best player on the planet still plays for Cleveland. But they have a chance if they play their cards right.

Sure eventually but it will be the age of the stars not the role players. Boston's stars were old not the role players like Bradley, Rondo Davis, etc. That is the thing I keep pointing out to clay and he just ignores.

The Cavs are -140 and Boston is +275 to win the East for a reason.

The cavs were huge favorites to win the east last year and also projected to have home court advantage by about 5 wins. This year it is much much closer

It's fun to dream, but I'll hold judgment until I hear IT is healthy, working out, and ready for this season.

I don't like this no information thing on health from a player that is always talking on social media.

I think healthy versus healthy it's 2-3 games we could take. The fundamental problem remains defensive rebounding to me.

I said four. We're a good team, and I think Lebron is discouraged.
