Coulda had Jahil Okafor. Instead we got this 31 year old

Even Sixers fan are down on Okafor. He is useless.

I'm salivating at this lineup...

IT4
Hayward
Tatum
Horford
Baynes

Tell me that team demolishes the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 7-game series.

Thompson is going to be sooo neutralized! How much are they paying Tristan? Baynes is going to out rebound him at a bargain rate.

Just what I predicted. I figured Danny was on the phones getting some experience at the 5, and he got just that in Baynes. Originally drafted by SA, so you know he's a D guy. Tough Aussie. 5 years in the league. Not a scorer. He brings toughness and D. Maybe a few rebounds.

Looks like Baynes may have taken a pay cut to come to Boston. He could have made about $6.5M in Detroit.

Celtics just got a little tougher up front.

Thanks and TP to those 3-4 posters who answered my questions!

I just didn't know much about Baynes besides the fact that he played for Detroit lol.

But hopefully with more minutes he can grab more boards!

Now I'm feeling more encouraged, plus Baynes is tough and plays defense too (big plus). Hopefully Tatum's SL rebounding also translates to the NBA too.

I'm SURPRISED he opted out of 6.5M and signed here for just 4.3M though...

As it stands now, we have 14 players under contract for the upcoming season.

PG: IT, Rozier, Jackson
SG: Smart, Jaylen,
SF: Hayward, Crowder, Tatum
PF: Morris, Daniel Theis, Mickey
C: Horford, Baynes, Zizic

It will be interesting to see who's going to get the final spot on our roster.

I fully expect Mickey and Jackson to be cut or traded. We are not going to waste roster spots on them this season now that we are legitimately trying to make the NBA finals.
I hope they are gone too. Rather give the two spots to Semi/Yabusele and Nader rather than wasting them on Jackson and Mickey.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

How does signing Baynes rule out Okafor? Unless you think Okafor is going to be waived/bought out and then sign for the room exception, they're totally unrelated

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan, put wouldn't mind giving him a chance with Stevens and Horford mentoring him.

Okfor/Stauskas or Anderson for Crowder/Mickey/Jackson

Gets us an other guard and big that balances out the team better. Crowder is still most likely on his way out. Can't see him playing behind Hayward, and I dont like him at the 4 as a starter.

At this stage Bogut is a stiff. He's cooked. Too many injuries and too old.

I really don't think so. Cleveland better be worried, the Celtics are coming hard for them.

This is such an underrated move. I thought the guy was at least getting 7-8 per.

Yet another upgrade.

We got a darn good roster.

okafor is a bust he can't play basketball. I don't yet the obsession with guys like bogut and okafor just cuz they were picked high. They are very flawed in different ways
