He will probably be our best rebounder:

Brian Robb‏ - @CelticsHub

Aron Baynes should be the best rebounder on the C's. He had a total rebound rate of 15.6% last year. C's best last year was 13.2% (Olynyk).

Sorry to sound stupid and clueless, but can someone give me insight into Baynes?

4.4 rebounds a game only? Is that mainly because of Drummond being on the team too?

And are we officially no longer interested in guys like Dedmon?

Dedmon couldn't be had for 4.3m.  Baynes a strong, physical presence that likes to muck it up in the paint.  The one time I saw him play last season, he got whacked in that broken nose and just laughed it off.  He's an animal.

We will see if that's the case.  I will ultimately be surprised if he winds up with anything more at this point.  The free agency dollars are drying up.

While Dedmon has been my preferred room level big two seasons in a row now, Baynes was one of my top fallback options, so I'm generally fine with this.  Now time to release Mickey, sign Semi to a 4-year deal, Yabusele to his rookie deal, and of course Hayward.  Then Theis and Nader to minimum deals, with a campfight between those two and Jackson for the 15th spot.  And Allen and Bird to two-way contracts.

Thunder from Down Under.

Baynes is a native Aussie. He's gonna help immensely.

The Celts are getting better on a daily basis these days. Good job Danny.

Getting some malice at the palace experiences from two tough and gritty players along with Jonas Jerebko who all formerly played for the Detroit Pistons  ;D

NBA draft‎: ‎2009‎ / ‎Undrafted‎
Playing career‎: ‎2009–present‎
Listed height‎: ‎6 ft 10 in (2.08 m)‎
College‎: ‎Washington State‎ (2005–2009)‎

We signed a Viking! I love it!! Ainge has brought the toughness to the roster this offseason with Baynes and Morris. Teams are going to get a beat down if they go inside on us next season!

Coulda had Jahil Okafor. Instead we got this 31 year old

How does signing Baynes rule out Okafor? Unless you think Okafor is going to be waived/bought out and then sign for the room exception, they're totally unrelated

As it stands now, we have 14 players under contract for the upcoming season.

PG: IT, Rozier, Jackson
SG: Smart, Jaylen,
SF: Hayward, Crowder, Tatum
PF: Morris, Daniel Theis, Mickey
C: Horford, Baynes, Zizic

It will be interesting to see who's getting the final spot on our roster.

I hope Ainge finds a way to get rid of Mickey and Jackson. That's two wasted roster spots IMO. Rather have Nader or/and Semi/Yabusele and sign another big man.

I'm salivating at this lineup...

IT4
Hayward
Tatum
Horford
Baynes

Tell me that team demolishes the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 7-game series.

I fully expect Mickey and Jackson to be cut or traded. We are not going to waste roster spots on them this season now that we are legitimately trying to make the NBA finals.
