Your positions are closer than you think. Ainge had no leverage as soon as Hayward agreed, but he had leverage before that, so there was no hurry to make this trade on draft night.
Also, I think Morris and his contract is a better and safer retunr than a draft pick as part of our "win now and later" approach. He is only cost-controlled for two years, yes, while a draft pick would be four... But Morris gives you a valid player, average PF starter which was a position of extreme need for us, regardles of our ability to sing anyone with the exception.
To sum up, we are sad see Bradley go. Very sad, indeed. But once Hayward agreed and we were in a hurry to trade anyone, it's not as bad a return as people say. In fact, Morris' and Crowder's are two of the best contracts in the league not counting rookie-scaled ones. And this is vital for us to extend IT next summer (I am not very fan of this, depending on money, but I admit we should do it) and keep balance of our cap due to Hayward + Horford making 60 million.
All in all, we keep our main assets for the future after these transactions: Brown, Tatum, Smart, Zizic and the Nets '18, LAL '18 or SAC '19 and MEM '19 or beyond. Even more "marginal" assets such as Rozier and Yabusele have been retained.
Let's keep in high spirits, mates.
