5'7, 5'9, 5'10"  does it really matter?  He still is going to get abused on d, posted up routinely for easy buckets, and be a great scorer on offense (as long as his body / athleticism holds up).  We get a lot of points from IT but he presents a lot of problems on d for us.

Our best lineup will be IT/Smart/Hayward/Crowder/Horford.

I'd probably start Jaylen for Smart so that the 2nd unit has a reliable ball handler, but Smart will play starter minutes off the bench.

I don't at all agree that Morris is our starter - Crowder is clearly a better player than him, the only reason to start Morris would be an aversion to going small early in the game.

But he has a league leading 6'1 wingspan and 7'8 reach

How many point guards were posting him up in previous years?  Does not happen all that often.  And if opposing PG's are going to be posting him up, should opposing SG's or SF's have been posting him up all the time too?  Did not happen much either.

Crowder is not a PF. Crowder couldn't make a case to get the start at PF last season over the travelling circus that included appearances by Amir, Gerald Green, Jaylen Brown and even Marcus Smart.

Starting Crowder at PF will be an unmitigated disaster, unless he miraculously grew 3 inches this offseason.

Maybe we should put IT4 through this...

I think we're definitely going to go grab a another big somewhere. Crowder will be in the Posey role.

This X 10000000

Any of you guys seriously thinking Crowder will start at PF for us this year either haven't watched him play or might be smoking alittle too much sticky-icky...

Crowder has regressed from his initial season with us and in all seriousness shouldn't even be considered for a starting spot.  His best shot is as a 6th man off the bench as the backup SF.

Or vs Wizards vs Cavs

IT4 was covering Otto Porter. If Otto Porter knew what he was doing. He would have exploited IT4

Vs the Cavs IT4 guarded JR Smith who was sleepwalking.

You can be sure teams took notes and will try to exploit the little guy this season

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I want Jaylen to start, I like Marcus coming off the bench as the 3rd guard, bringing in some needed energy.

It's time to put Jaylen to the fire and see what we have in him. If anything, it gives us some size.

I like marcus running the show for the 2nd team more than I like him with IT as a starter.  But I think either could work.  Who knows it might be better for Brown's development to play with the starters and have a bit less pressure to produce on off.

If the decision is staring Smart vs starting Brown then we already know the answer, they will start Brown. This same situation happened last year and they inserted Brown into the starting lineup when Bradley was out. Brown provides a more credible shooting threat than Smart which is great for opening thing up for Thomas, and Thomas does the same thing for Brown. All that shooting with three guys who can drive (Hayward is underrated in this area) means awesome offense. Also, we need Smarts playmaking on the second unit, I don't think Rozier is really ready to run the point. Even if Smart is the better player right now it makes more sense given their skill sets to start Brown.

Rozier, Smart, and Crowder is a heck of a second unit (provided that Crowder doesn't raise a stink about his diminished role). My problem is that this really phases out Tatum, and I wanted him to get more opportunity to put a foot in the rotation.

How many levels of crazy do you have to be to bring Isaiah back to an off the bench kind of guy?

Because I'm starting to think that a Smart - Brown - Hayward - Morris - Horford could be an excellent defensive squad and is capable enough to score.
