If previous deals Ainge has signed with non-league FAs are any indication, this will be a two-year contract with team options before the start of each season. I'd bet money the deal isn't guaranteed past the final roster date this year.

Nobody is forgetting him lol

But he's basically an undrafted unknown rookie with almost no shot at making an impact ever, let alone in his rookie year

He's 25, played internationally for a while.

Yeah like Faverani

This^^^. Not saying that Theis will be the starting C, but if the C's are depending heavily on him to contribute right away, give quality minutes, then IMO the C's are looking for trouble.
Danny has a keen eye for NBA talent, not so much European talent. Faverani is a perfect example.

Yes there are lots of great European examples that have worked in the NBA  HOWEVER, Danny is best when he isn't plucking them straight from Europe (meaning they'd have to show their talent in the NBA). Great example of this is picking Kelly Olynk over Giannis A.

So proof that Danny picks bad guys from Europe is because he picked KO over Greek Freak.  Yeah, that makes so much sense.

Yes! well documented BUT if you read my post - He can spot talent - it just has to be IN the NBA already. I'm sure he'd die to get JOKIC or Nuric (established Euro talent that already exists on an NBA team.) I do not trust Danny to pick/draft Euro talent to meaningful minutes on the C's within their first few years.

You are being foolish if you think Danny is the only one scouting these players. They have Euro scouts like anyone else and always change them.

So what's the status of Theis and Yabusele?  Will either be on the team this season?

I'm hoping Boris Diaw gets bought out this weekend and signs with us...he played with Hayward last season.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

If Ainge is counting on 2 Euro's to play significant minutes he is a fool.
End of the bench players at best..

Yeah Euros all suck. Saric, Vucevic, Fournier, Dragic, Schroder, Porzingis, Jokic, Gasol, Gobert, Antetokounmpo, Nurkic, Hernangómez, Mirotic, Bogdanovic, Bogdanovic, etc all suck. Now who is the fool?

Did I say all Euro's suk?

Re read the post genius.

No chance either of these players have an impact this season. Bench depth at best.
My point was, none of these Celtic euros were high on any teams list. Last thing boston needs is more developmental type players..

Let's see. Reads post again where it is says "If Ainge is counting on 2 Euro's to play significant minutes he is a fool" You pointed out where they were from which means you think Zizic and Theis are somehow inferior players because they are European. I simply pointed out that is stupid and outdated thinking by naming how many European players are contributing to NBA rosters.

And BTW, Zizic was the 23rd pick in last year's draft and obviously someone the Celtics have major plans for. Yabusele was the 16th pick and might also be on the roster this year getting minutes. Throw in Theis and you might have THREE Euros contributing to the Celtics this year

Who is the fool? That would be you and not Danny Ainge.

I think I may be the only one who sees Theis starting alongside Horford to begin the season.

Thomas - Hayward - Crowder - Theis - Horford

Smart - Rozier - Brown - Morris - Baynes

With Zizic and Tatum rounding out the rotation depending on matchups

Jesus..  Can he shoot, can he handle the ball a tiny bit ,  can he play defence? Is he cheap as Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.?
