The more I watch Tatum the more I fall in love with his game. I think his quickness is really underrated and the 85% ft shooting suggests to me that he can extend his range to 3 point territory.

What's he like athletically?

BTW love your G.W. Bush quote. Had no idea that idiot could say something that smart!

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
I saw Tatum play and he wants the Ball. I don't think Fultz has the killer instinct of Tatum. We need a scorer. I know many want Fultz to lead the Team in a few years but this may make the best of both worlds good next year. We will have 5 top 10 picks on this team in 2018 or 19. Only Horford is on decline. The sixers may have good team but they have 2 of their three have health issues.
Tatum is a stud and some think he could be the best in the draft. Time will tell. We may have 1 and 2 pick next year with two three from the last 2 years.

I agree - I feel that his athleticism is extremely underrated.

He's no Wiggins / Jackson level athlete, but he seems to run the floor very well, and appears to be a pretty capable leaper too.

Tatum was the first guy in this draft that I fell in love with for our team, and he reminds me SO much of Paul Pierce.  Similar personality, skill set, play style, etc. I think he's going to be a real stud.

Interesting.

I got really high on Jackson and few months ago but have slowly shifted toward thinking Tatum is the better prospect. A 6'8" Paul Pierce playing the 3/4 alongside Jaylen at the 2/3 could be nice.

lol I'm sure he didn't come up with the line on his own.

As for Tatum he doesn't have the Jackson-type explosion but he is actually decently quick and seems to creat a lot more separation with his first step than one might expect. He's not a guy that leaps out the gym but with his size and reach and Ok athleticism he can still get up for putbacks and blocks.

Tatum also has really good passing vision.  Every Duke game I watched this season (about a half dozen), he made 2-3 passes in the half-court where I had no idea how he even saw there was a player to pass to, much less thread the needle through at least one defender.

I have some concerns about his athletic ceiling, but he's arguably a better prospect than Ingram was last year.  He very much could be an All-Star for many years.

But I still wanted Fultz.  And I'd still prefer Jackson.  Tatum is a great prospect tho.  The top of this draft is terrific.

You don't need elite athleticism to be great in the NBA but above NBA average would be nice.

Will we see a revised workout schedule this week following trade? I wonder if Tatum will come in or is already scheduled?

I am totally trusting Danny and Brad on this one.  I am on the Josh Jackson hype train but I understand the negatives, so if it is Tatum then so it is.

Just psyched that we can add anyone that good to a 53-win team with Marcus and Jaylen.
