The Celtics saw Tatum in LA.

I absolutely LOVE this move if he lands Tatum. I've liked him since I first saw him play.

The NBA game will open his game up so much. He's more polished offensively than Jaylen, a better passer and better ballhandler. Those two are going to be a match up nightmare in a few years.

Tatum also has really good passing vision.  Every Duke game I watched this season (about a half dozen), he made 2-3 passes in the half-court where I had no idea how he even saw there was a player to pass to, much less thread the needle through at least one defender.

I have some concerns about his athletic ceiling, but he's arguably a better prospect than Ingram was last year.  He very much could be an All-Star for many years.

But I still wanted Fultz.  And I'd still prefer Jackson.  Tatum is a great prospect tho.  The top of this draft is terrific.

I can be sold on any of these guys so any of them are fine by me.  Tatum seems like a fantastic NBA wing - has a little Paul George in him.

I agree Tatum is a better prospect than Ingram. I like him better than Jabari Parker also

key for Tatum will be to keep improving on his body and clean up his 3 pt jump shot  (recent youtube clip of him making 20 3s in a row, is a good sign)

i thought all along , Tatum is the sure deal ,  maybe not Fultz potiental,  but Celtic CBS player.

love his smooth moves .  Front court player with touch and power moves ......simular to pierce.  Smart passer like Horford.   Team player.

if they keep the pick , i think he is it.

Which means we're getting Jackson. When you zig, Ainge zags.

Oh no, it means we are trading down from #3 to #5+#10 now and getting Isaac #5  :P

Hogwash. The Cs traded down so they could trade a high first rounder to Chicago for Jimmy Butler, and still get another first rounder out of it.

Good to see Danny is seeing Tatum as I saw him on the video this morning.  :laugh:Seriously. I thought for a brief moment I was seeing Pierce on his shot release.  I liked what I saw. He's one of those natural scorers. 20 ppg guy.

The only question is he quick enough? But PP and Larry weren't any quicker. Not that he's near those guys in potential.

Trouble is, Ainge maybe has given Philly the impression he preferred Tatum over Fultz, which may explain why the swap keeps getting diluted by the hour. A reminder to Philly that the Lakers are there at #2 to take Fultz if he's available.

At the rate the trade is getting diluted, they might only get a conditional first rounder out of this. And that might be worthless. Better to cancel the deal.

PP and Larry isn't going against Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Giannis Antetokounpo, Kevin Durant, and even LeBron James (well, Paul did). Elite athletes with length.

Can his "smooth" game be good enough to get buckets against those guys?

I wanted Tatum before I wanted Fultz. My feelings shifted through the season but Tatum was extremely impressive and is NBA ready. I want Tatum over Jackson and I hope Ainge sees it that way too.

True ::).  Bird only faced such nailed-to-the-floor types like Michael Cooper, James Worthy, Bobby Jones, Dr. J, Derek Smith, Dudley Bradley, Rodney McCray, Clyde Drexler, Jerome Kersey, Dennis Rodman, John Salley, Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant, and Michael Jordan, for starters, and don't forget about Paul Pressey, either.  I'm sure that I've forgotten a few guys, but yeah.
