First of all, any website that gives this trade "grades" before we know the actual parameters is idiotic. Secondly, it's probably based in NY, like most of pro sports media is, and is probably anti-Boston. I think the media giving grades on anything is pretty ludicrous anyways. What the heck do they know more than any informed fan--much less a GM and his staff?
I keep hearing different parameters on this deal, so I guess we won't know the facts until Monday. For example, what is the "2nd first" they're getting? I've heard several versions.
I don't know if the Celtics will ever use that #3 pick. It could be traded before the draft. We haven't heard much--maybe because it's still too early. The media, of course, can't wait. Fans have a little more patience, but not much more.

If they do use that pick, Ainge must have some trade up his sleeve that doesn't use that pick.
Or maybe he's holding it as a contingency, in case he doesn't get the trade he wants for a Butler or George. If so, it's not hard to see why he might prefer a forward like Tatum or Jackson. Especially Tatum, in my view, because he has 4 potential and can shoot better than anybody up front they now have. And even block a shot or two.
It's easy to see how guard heavy the Celtics are right now. How difficult a 19yo kid could get any PT in that backcourt--especially a kid that needs a couple years to get his feet on the ground. It's also easy to see how a shooting 3-4 like Tatum--or a George or Butler--could fit in more easily for all their weaknesses up front.
Highway robbery? I don't even know what they're getting back yet.
