Assuming we keep the pick, the red flags were there, and I think they're correct (regarding the red flags).
Fultz didn't make Washington better. They lost 10 extra games and it seems like the major difference between 2015 and 2016 is Chriss played 2015 and Fultz played 2016.
People want to call him a generational talent. A generational talent is LeBron James. James, the same year he would have been in college, posted the same kind of stats as Fultz,in the NBA -- not against crappy college teams. He also made his team win an extra 20 games in his rookie season, in the NBA. For all of the "Fultz was in Washington" apologists, ask yourselves... would LeBron James at 19 have led this Washington team to 9 wins?
Ive been watching basketball for ~25 years. There's always a lot of hype surrounding draft picks. People fall in love with the "best case" analysis and dismiss reality. Rarely do players ever live up to the hype, and Fultz seems like the most overhyped person that I can ever remember, and I"m not just saying that as a disgruntled Celtics fan now that we don't have it anymore. I've been posting this all week.
I would also like to point out that the 76ers have a "legendary" team.. consisting of a guy who hasn't played 1 game, a guy who can't stay healthy, and mr 9-22, who for all I can figure out quit on his college team with some phantom injury. My advice to all Celtics fans is to just stay off libertyballers or any other platform that you have to listen to delusional 76ers fans who actually rooted for their team to lose for years. They aren't true fans at all. Actually, now that I think about it, Fultz sitting out games due to a minor/fake injury while his team loses... seems like he'll fit perfectly in Philly.
