This makes sense, you don't trade number 1 unless you feel that the guy isn't a generational talent.

We know Ainge is into brain typing, maybe he failed that miserably, who knows.

Danny has put his nuts firmly on the chopping board with this move, however, I hated the Ray Allen deal at the time and Danny got booed for picking Brown, so he deserves some slack.

I just hate the idea of trading the number one pick without the guarantee of a superstar in return.

No kidding. The fact that he is going to the Sixers is easily the worst part of this deal. That's a nice core they're building.

Bull, Ainge just wanted to put the Celtics in the position where they needed to go out n make trades for a win now philosophy. We could of taken the smarter road and built a dynasty for 10 to 15 years. Now he opens a 3 to 4 year window that will close alot sooner cause to many people r impatient. Its bull sht i hate the idea and for this hope it backfires on his ass. Sorry thats how i feel ****H

Well, looking more and more like they just weren't sold on Fultz over the others, and Danny saw an opportunity to just get some more assets.

Hopefully it works out. I will say, though, that I also had this concern at times, too. Granted, some people thought the same about Brown, but I think his aggressiveness quelled those fears this year.

This is what I've thought all along.

I had gotten myself behind the Fultz hype and how well he'd fit in Boston, but something never felt quite right. After watching a lot of Jackson the last couple of days, I am fully on board his train.

If Danny and Brad truly like Jackson more than Fultz, then getting an additional top 5 pick in one of the next two drafts is quite a haul from their point of view. I would have at least liked that additional 2021 Philly pick, but it appears that is not in the cards.

And if the Lakers take Jackson over Ball, well, I guess we get the other tier 1 prospect in Ball. It really could be a lot worse.

But honestly, to folks who have only been watching/reading Fultz highlights/articles, start doing the same thing with Jackson; the dude looks pretty amazing - not only can he jump high, but he jumps quickly, moves laterally quickly, and is constantly engaged; he will instantly become a fan favorite and is already a better prospect than our beloved Jaylen Brown. And to those who point out his crappy ft%, Fultz also sucked at free-throws.

"Just little stuff about playing defense, better ways to help me," Fultz said. "And then offensively, stuff that he liked that I did, the way I come off screen-and-rolls and different stuff like that, and stuff I can improve on on both ends. And stuff I did good on the defensive end, too. It was both good and bad."

If this is just a matter of them not liking Fultz and wanting to get extra assets, OK.

If this is all to set up a trade for Butler and then sign Hayward ... well, that'll be interesting.  I don't like the idea of going all-in on winning in the short term when the Warriors and Cavs exist in their current form.
