I'm guessing when DA asked Markelle what he wanted to eat, if he heard anything other than Chipotle meant he was getting traded.

We know where they grabbed food. DA can't trust a player who doesn't choose Chipotle.

This makes so much more sense than the other explanations out there.

This is stupid. Absolutely stupid. Like having brainfreeze and eating more ice cream stupid.

So you're saying none of our staff can make this kid care about winning?

None of our current players can?

None of the upcoming players can?

Just say we don't like Fultz, it's easier than this. This is either being dumb or being a liar to cover up the fact that the trad was stupid.

Nice leak to try not to look like complete fools.

Really, Danny? You have concerns? Any Celtic fan with two functioning brain cells has concerns about you. We have one single starter drafted by you. And let's list the all-stars Ainge has drafted....

If Wyc knew what he was doing, he wouldn't let Ainge anywhere near our draft. The two stooges. The blind leading the blind.

Keith Smith WOW! GUYS check your sources!!! This guy tweets stuff he thinks could be true. Remember him saying the NBA is adding two teams? Then Silver says nope that's not even on the radar right now.

Ainge is not a great drafter.  He sees the game with confidence from 1-2 positions and that shapes all of his draft decisions.  In this case, that may not be a bad thing, though -- we're desperate for bigs and this trade very well could give us 2 opportunities at landing a very good one.

Also worth noting that PFs are a dying breed, so Ainge's weaknesses aside, next year is probably more important for our next 4-5 years than Fultz would've been.  I'm still disappointed like the rest, but we have to wait and see what he does with the added assets, Bradley, Crowder, etc.

I think it's a good possibility that he trades for Buterl/PG and signs Hayward/Griffin.  If he fails on just 1 of these 2 accounts (and keeps the pick), I don't think it's too soon to say that he ****ed this one up.

By all means, if the plan was to draft Josh Jackson because he's seen as a comparable prospect, then I'll cosign the next round of Fire Ainge threads.  He's redundant with our roster, particularly Brown, lacks length, and would drive the anti-Smart fans to tears.  Have to add that my job requires I do all I can not to judge people... but Josh Jackson is still a child, and not one I want around an ECF team.  I don't care what you've personally been through - threatening to "beat" a woman's ass is pathetic.  If the pick is kept, Ainge should go with Tatum and lick his wounds.

There may be questions about Fultz's winning ways, but year from now when we are looking back, we'll all agree that he was the best player from this deal BY MILES.

Is he a MJ-level talent? I don't think so and MILES is way over-exaggeration. He maybe the best prospect in the draft but he's not MILES ahead of anyone. A healthy Harry Giles is a different question.

Well jeeze, this is pretty smart of Danny.. How about lighting the fire under the talented 19 yr old as you send him to our future division rival..

Yeah, why is this coming out now?  It just seems too soon, imo, so it's probably intentional, lol ;D.

And you're happy with that?

Danny said he would not punt this off-season. Going for Butler and Hayward is exactly that, punting. You're exchanging a chance at greatness to top out as the surefire 3rd best team in the league.

Whoop-dee-freaking-daa!

Let's hope that team can at least beat the Cavs...
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

Please tell me this is not an official Celtic tweet, because it is really bad juju if it is from the Celtics.

As far as the kid not being a winner, I disagree with that. One fact about Fultz from watching his videos is that he seemed to be laid back and not too engaged. I concluded that he was just so far superior to the competition that he just coasted and played with ease, or that he was just taking it easy to avoid injury. Others so it as laziness and a big concern. Now we maybe know how the Celtics see his approach.

Time will tell who wins this trade, but there really is no need to trash the kid in public.

This makes sense, you don't trade number 1 unless you feel that the guy isn't a generational talent.

We know Ainge is into brain typing, maybe he failed that miserably, who knows.

Danny has put his nuts firmly on the chopping board with this move, however, I hated the Ray Allen deal at the time and Danny got booed for picking Brown, so he deserves some slack.

I just hate the idea of trading the number one pick without the guarantee of a superstar in return.
I mean, Scal was a winner, right? Who wouldn't take the White Mamba over Fultz?

Don't be shocked, but that could very well be the case.  Celtics FO are making a personality judgment about Fultz, that he doesn't have the psychological makeup that they think is important to winning.  You can only do so much to change a person, the rest is up to the individual.

I am NOT saying this is the case, only suggesting it could be the case and that Celtics FO have had a lot more access to the kid than anyone on the board.

Let's see what the other shoe drop looks like on Thursday night.
