I don't live in Boston, but he got the "just two picks" thing right. What do we make of this?

Does anyone know when we will know what draft picks the Celtics are getting in return for #1 (besides #3)? Right now it seems hard to judge the trade until we know what the trade is. There seems to be a lot of talks of Sacramento and the Lakers, but I'm not sure about the details.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

That so far all the info has leaked from the Philly side. Likely means that the package is the worst we will get but not necessarily the one we will get.

As always with Boston I don't believe any of it until Ainge opens his mouth.

We will get the Lakers pick next year only if it is #2,3,4, or 5. If it is #1 or #6-30, we instead get the Kings 2019 1st unprotected. We are only getting 1 pick and we are moving down from #1 to #3 this year.
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

The deal was waiting on them to say yes.  It was proposed and they needed to have him tested and in for a visit.  Woj said that was the case before.

It is one pick but with the protections it has a very high chance of being a top 5 pick so that's good.

good sentiments and decisions here. a tp for suggesting we all wait and see what actually is happening, as opposed to jumping on each rumor as if it is totally accurate.

i still love fultz, but fully understand that ainge may see something more, or equal, in jackson or tatum. in danny i trust on this.

if ainge can get the player he wants AND pick up an extra draft pick or two, kudos to him.

but, let's wait and see. i remember the draft day receptions many celtics fans gave to brown and rozier when they were announced.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

  • Anything is possible!
Does and can have the George decision have any impact on this deal?

- There is a slight chance Indy just trades him to LA now for maybe Randle and a bad pick. So he will already become a laker this year which hurts our chances for a good pick in 2018.

- The trade is not official right? There only has been verbally agreed on? Ainge can still get out of it or is that not legally possible? I thought a phone call to make it officials has been set up for tomorrow.

If Wyc wants to step in and kill the deal, they can back out at any time.  Just use the 'owner overruled me' excuse.
