Can we be heading to the nightmare, absolute worst case scenario:  C's take Jackson #1, Lakers take Fultz and he torments us in Purple and Gold for 15 years.

No, I'm sure the Celtics will take Fultz at #1, and trade him to Phili if all goes as planned. He could certainly torment us in Phili for 15 years though, especially with Embiid and Simmons on his team.

Yeah, but this whole process could mess this 19yo kid up. He's not used to this kind of limelight.
Sports is about 50% confidence, and you don't want to mess with it. This is a terrible thing to do to this kid.

Ainge mistake: starting this draft trade too early. You wait until draft time to show your cards.
Never deal in the media. It never works. If you have more than one deal to make, wait until the draft. If it happens, it happens.

from where are these reports coming?  Is Philly trying to lower Fultz's value so Ainge accepts a low-ball offers.  Seems like a flawed strategy.

Phili streamed the workout online live.

Thanks, TP.  I watched and it was bad.  He was missing pull-up threes by a mile.  He had an unforced turnover.  His free throw mechanics lack any semblance of fluidity.  I will be interested to see what effect this has on a potential deal.

Fultz doesnt want to play for Philly. He could have sabotaged that workout. He looked angry in that pick on twitter. He's either mad cause he feels blackballed by Ainge and ruined the trade value on himself or he's bout to ball in LA

I'm not sure what Ainge has done to make him feel "blackballed"...care to elaborate?

Rak

I dont know but seemed like Fultz had his mind set on Boston at #1

I wouldn't call anything that is currently happening a mistake.  No cards have been shown, a lot of smoke, but no fire.

But speaking of fire, that sure fire #1 prospect is being tested in the fires of the big lights.  Life is more than going to a local restaurant with a prospective boss, thinking you'll be drafted first and everything is happily ever after.  That's the mistake...similar to couples who put more into their wedding ceremony than their marriage.

Under fire, Fultz apparently fizzled for Philly...if I'm Ainge, I'm asking more for him now than I did already.  It's up to Philly to decide whether or not the kid has the stuff or not.  As many will say, one 18 shot selection is not indicative of his future skill.

If Ainge had waited until draft time, then this day would not have happened...and I believe we learned a lot today.

Apparently Fultz shot 4-18 on three-pointers in his 76ers workout.

I hope that's ignited Danny's interest!

Yep! Ainge just called the Sixers and cancelled the deal, LOL.

He's like, I thought Jackson's shot was rough, but [dang], Fultz is legit! A true Celtic!

TP funny stuff!

Workouts are lame, Fakers said he killed their workout!

Yep, Ainge only likes guys who utterly dominate chairs.  Has everyone forgotten his affinity for Yi Jianlian, who he thought was the next KG, iirc, and also destroyed a chair?  I'm kidding, btw ;D.

I'd be interested to know what kind of chair was used in each workout.  That way, at least we have some kind of control variable since Yi and Fultz play different positions, even though positionless basketball ::)

"Wow, Fultz is killing the ballroom chair - check out the handles!"

"Yi seems to be struggling with the cheap folding chair (SHAQATTACK ;D)"

"That's because it's made in Taiwan, Mike."

"Check out the quick twitch displayed by both of them during the musical chairs portion of the combine.  Up next, the sack race.  Will Fultz's knee hold up?  Will Yi even be able to get his legs in the bag?  Let's send it over to Stephen A. and whoever that new white guy is for their take."

"I think it's safe to say that both of these guys are chair creators, Cotton."

"More like big chair makers, Pepper."

"So versatile, too.  Talk about being able to guard multiple positions...of pieces of furniture."

"Momma there goes that chairman."

Laughing my butt off over the over the top reactions on this board about leaked rumors regarding this pick. For all we know this is all coming from Philly and the final deal, if a deal ever gets made or was ever close to being made, could be quite different and involve another team for other assets or players.

While free agent and trade rumors are fun, it is crazy season in the NBA and 95% of what is out there never happens.

But what the rumors and reactions tell me is people are forgetful. All season long bloggers have been touting this draft as special. Suddenly a whole bunch of those same bloggers are calling Ball trash cause of his dad and Jackson a role player. Fultz apparently has only had one good workout, thats it one. People are saying Tatum isn't in the same class as Fultz, Ball and Jackson but those guys are a poor workout, trash, and a defensive role player.

Then there are the angry people who already have Fultz being a generational talent, ala Chris Paul or Kobe Bryant and it would be assinine to trade him. Fultz, with these people, is the end all be all.

Take deep breath fellow Celticsbloggers. The truth on everything is mosy likely  somewhere in between. The rumor is probably true but unfinished and coming from just one side...Philly's. Jackson is probably more than just a defensive role player that can't shoot but not a superstar. Fultz is probably very good but most likely not generational. Ball is probably pretty darn good irregardless of his psycho dad.

Let's let the whole offseason play out and see what Danny brings into training camp as the 2017-18 Celtics before going off the deep end with crazy reactions.

Celtics trying to get Fultz back for 2nd workout but he's turned them down. After Philly workout.

Trade between Philly and Boston will be finalized on Monday, per source. Sides have agreed. Sixers will get first pick and take Fultz.

Things now getting even weirder:

Markelle Fultz canceled his 2nd workout with the Celtics for Lakers/76ers visits, but Boston is attempting to get him to come in once more.

The Celtics had Lauri Markkanen & Dennis Smith in for workouts today. Still trying to get Josh Jackson to come but have been unsuccessful.

At this point, I have absolutely no clue what is going on. It seems really, really fishy to me that Fultz is now being asked to come back to Boston for another workout, yet Danny is supposedly still wanting to take a widely-regarded lesser prospect who continues to refuse to come to Boston for a workout/visit.

One knock on Fultz is they don't know how mentally tough he is, and how much he wants to win. Even guys who played pick up games with him have said he'd get his, but his teams usually lose. And that a lot of his points came in the second half of blow outs.

But thats also hear say. But one thing we know is Fultz wants to go #1 in a bad way, it's really one of the first things that would come out of his mouth for a while, now he's saying the right things.

But what if this was all a test from DA. A mental test. Get him all turned around, make it not easy for him. And now DA and Stevens want a second work out with him, maybe bring in some of the big boys. And see how he handles it. See if he brings it. See if he really wants to win.

Yeah it's a tough thing to do to a 19, but you're entering a MAN's league, and you gotta put your big boy pants on now, if they are going to invest millions in you, you better earn it. Look at Brown. Dude is always talking mental toughness. The kid barley hit a wall. It lasted a couple weeks at worst and he was back , and he was trying to hold his own against one of the greatest. If you're week in the head noodle, you wont last long. Especially in Boston.

Why do that now instead of draft night? What if the Lakers take Jackson? Maybe Ainge's guy is Tatum.

If Boston brought Fultz in for a second work out against Marcus Smart and he really brought it I'd be sold.

I'm told the Celtics and Sixers have agreed to a trade. Fultz is a Sixer.

Deal is supposedly done... So much for not worrying, huh?

No confirmation from any legit sources yet though.
