The typical calls I imagine Danny getting for #1:

Bulls GM: "Are you interested in #1 for Jimmy Butler?"
Danny:  "I could be interested in that.  So Jimmy Butler and...?"
Bulls GM: "No 'and', just Butler straight up for #1 (plus salary filler)"

Then repeat pretty much the same conversation for Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Jahlil Okafor, Justise Winslow.

I mean, any idiot can see that we have plenty of help at the guard spots, and that we really need help on the wings and in the front court. Is it CRAZY to listen to offers? Not at all. And maybe there's a good trade out there. I wouldn't be mad if he traded the #1 for a great player to get us past Cleveland.

it was widely rumored that had Boston landed a top 2 pick in 2007, Ainge would have traded that pick for Garnett and been able to keep Jefferson, so yeah Ainge will listen and if he gets a player he likes absolutely would trade the pick.

He was big on Durant but if you can land Garnett for just the unproven rookie you do it without hesitation.  Imagine KG and Big Al down low.   Or maybe instead of going to the Lakers Boston lands Pau for Big Al.  That might yield 3 or 4 titles instead of 1.  Ainge is always looking for the value move. Sometimes that is doing nothing, sometimes it is trading young guys or draft picks, and sometimes that is moving the vets.

Brian Scalabrine has said for months that the Celtics FO are obsessed with Fultz and he's going to be the pick.

I agree with this. And I think if you've watched the NBA long enough you realize that we've never really seen a scorer like Fultz in quite some time.
He scores from everywhere on the court and hits tough shot after tough shot. Shots that guys like Kobe, Pierce and TMac used to hit with ease from the mid range. Kevin Durant and Curry/Thompson are similar.

When was the last time we saw a college player who can score in the pick and roll like Fultz AND shoot the 3 at 40%+ ?
When was the last time we saw a guy with the 3 pt game of Bradley Beal, the mid range game of Evan Turner/DeMart DeRozan and the pick and roll scoring ability like Derrick Rose or DeRozan?

His only real glaring weakness is free throw shooting on the offensive end.

His D needs some work, but when you see his story, listen to him talk and see how humble and competitive he is, you don't worry about his D because he has the physical tools to be an excellent defender, and the mindset to improve.

He's just an 18 year old kid who's never had to play any defense because he was just told to score all game.

I wouldn't trade this pick for anything but a top 5 player.

I think a GM should ALWAYS listen to offers and be open. Anyway, in our situation I think he must (obviously, it's not the same situation if you have a Davis or not as a nº 1 prospect).

Exactly. We would essentially have to trade him for a current MVP candidate or someone who looks to be a lock to be a future MVP candidate. In my estimation, that's about 6-8 guys (none are actually available).
