has not this board, time and time again, lamented how the celtics have so many "nice players" but lack a true talent/all star? a common comment is how the celtics have "quantity but not quality"?
so now i see so many proposals that result in a "quality for quantity" result. do the celtics need additional players who are good? not really, they have that already.
the celtics needs a great player to move further in the playoffs, and fultz may be that player.
ainge will draft him i believe.
I agree. A lot of people talk about "What would belicheck do" but there are 2 MASSIVE flaws with this reasoning.
1. In football, 46 players dress for a game. Any given player plays, at most, 50% of the game on average, and is 1 part out of 11 for that part of the game. In basketball, a given player is 75-95 % of the game and is 1 part out of 5. Huge difference in terms of individual impact.
2. It's easier to be "Belicheckian" when YOU HAVE TOM BRADY AT THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION! The better analogy would be to recommend that Cleveland, with Lebron in the fold, then be "Bellicheckian." But the C's do not have that luxury at this point. They have many nifty pieces, most of whom are young. The Celtics need to slide everyone's importance down 1-2 slots.
I'm not sure Fultz is the guy, but he certainly could be. Trading him for a few more nice parts would be pretty frustrating.
Jokic or Davis however...
