Why DOES everybody suggest trading players only if they don't like them?!?  A player is more likely to be traded when they're good!

same, just find it stupid...LeBron is the best player in the world...you're expecting a rook to stop/slow him down? yea no...I love Jaylen and I think his progress is definitely a plus and exceeding exceptions in my honest opinion. The fact he was able to play in game 7 and scored 9 points in the most important game of his career shows that we should be patient

Considering LeBron is averaging ~34ppg these playoffs shooting over 50% from the field quite comfortably, it's a bit of an ask to expect Jaylen to in any way nullify his offence. We are talking about a guy who is probably the best player since prime Jordan.

I think he's right in that Jaylen should be called upon to play a lot this series and if he puts on a good showing against Lebron in the Conference Finals then he's definitely a keeper. The opposite, as others have noted, probably isn't exactly true. A good sign is good, a bad sign only leaves the question unanswered.

I'm also interested when he says:

I think Jaylen is a guy who grew up having the ball in his hands a lot. Being forced to learn how to play off the ball this season might not exactly be "out of his comfort zone" but it is something new for him and might prove invaluable later in his career.

Andre Iguodala won a Finals MVP for doing that. It's not just impressive "for a rook."

This article is a real stretch. i shouldn't have clicked on it.

I glad Simmons still has a website after Grantland was shuttered, but he lost a LOT of talent moving from ESPN's cushy confines to whatever limited budget he's working on now. Once in awhile there will be something interesting on the Ringer, but all too often it's a lot of random postulating, unfunny "spoof" pieces, or just plain hot garbage takes.

I don't know how this piece made it past the editor, but I can't say I'm surprised.

I agree with the piece in this way :  Jaylen Brown has a golden opportunity to make his mark (ambiguous) in this series vs the Cavs. IMO Jaylen does not need to slow Lebron or score 30 points....Jaylen can make his mark by playing like he did in game 7 vs the Wiz

Lebron is a killer and no one can stop him or even really slow him down. But we can try to make things harder for him and not give him easy buckets in the post against smaller players(like when we have Smart/AB on him, or in the switch, and Lebron gets easy buckets in the paint bc of his size and ability).
