I remember Garnett talking about the building shaking while the team was in the locker room before coming out for warmups for a playoff game.
My question is - Wasn't the old Garden louder ??
Personally, I loved that place. As a kid growing up in Tennessee and having fallen in love with the Celtics during their 60's run of titles, I heard all the stories of the old, creaky Garden, dirty and full of rats. I finally made it to a game, Easter Day 1985 vs Knicks. The place was old, yes, but clean as a pin, everything kept up, painted and shiny. I will never forget the PA announcer (at a normal tone, not screaming) when Bird led the team out for warmups, "Ladies and Gentleman, Your World Champion Boston Celtics." Pure Magic.
