Eh, if you don't back this type of stuff up, then you look stupid, especially if the games end up like the last ones at Washington. Remember how dumb New York looked when they did it and lost?

Granted, I think it would be awesome to close them out tonight after this.

All I can say is that you better come through when you do something like this.  Handing your opponents bulletin board material is just not wise and they will be crucified for it in the media if they do not close the deal.
Yea I don't like this not because I think it's disrespect just don't give them any fuel or motivation

I never like this kind of stuff, but it kinda goes back to when the Wizards did it to us some months back.

Great quotes.  Self-preservation is man's most powerful drive.

I love this psychological warfare when its not used out of arroganve, but as a source of intrinsic motivation, to get that slight edge, on an equally threatening opponent.  I fully expect the Wiz to be engaging in a similar process of their own, and respect both sides for doing it.

I love this psychological warfare.  If used correctly, can be a great source of intrinsic motivation, to get that slight edge, on an equally threatening opponent.  I fully expect the Wiz to be engaging in a similar process of their own, and respect both sides for doing it.

You guys have to be in a nut ward where they allow computer labs.

This isnt a war must I remind you , and nobody will die here.

What do the Wizards care If they Celtics wear black signifying a funeral where somebody actually is dead.

If anything this helps the Wizards , and I bet If the Celtics are really doing this that some of them are feeling stupid.

This gives nobody but the Wizards extra motivation.

It's not negative. It's an opinion. When I see something that I think is negative or a detriment I respond to it.

So much for having some class.

Disappointing, but I'm old school I guess.

Class?

Old school to me means nasty rivalries and posturing just like this. I can see the Bird-era Celtics having a back-and-forth symbol contest like this against the Sixers or Pistons or Lakers. Trolling isn't new.

Yeah I go back far enough. 4-4-4 from Moses. Ended up only losing one playoff game if I remember. Bird messing with Magic about not making the Finals in '86. But LB never disrespected a worthy opponent in front of the media like this that I can recall. There was no twitter, nobody got ESPN. No friggen dancers, no music blaring when the game was on.

So no, this isn't the same. It's punkish and petty.

Just play ball.

EDIT: Now if the C's had sent some fishing gear over to the Wiz locker room, that would've been hilarious.

I love it, it keeps everyone engaged and makes them have to step up and play to back it up.

Keep it close until the 3rd quarter and it's going to get real scary for them. The fans start turning and guys start trying to do more than they can do.

I think it ends tonight.

Clinical neuropsychologist in training.  I wouldn't call it a "nut ward," but yeah...

The above poster is right, you're embracing one possible interpretation and/our outcome.  I slightly modified my words about the time you posted.. but again, I think if used to further increase internal motivation (rather than out of arrogance) it can be useful.  The margin for error here is so small, any little bit may help.

All that said, also possible the league facilitated this to increase drama, viewership, etc.

I'm expecting the league to try to make this go 7. As usual, C's didn't get the memo. I'd bet the officials did.

Come on bro this is awesome! If we win it's brilliant if we lose on to game 7!

Completely silent on the bus ride. First time this year, All business!

Silliness.  Now if the Celtics had dressed like Lepracauns an arrived in a Hearse, that would have been classic!

It's just stupid and immature. They look like a bunch of 15-year-olds ... the same way the Wizards looked when they did it.

It's kinda dumb, but it's a response to what they did to us the next game after the Wall-Crowder confrontation. And if it helps them take the game seriously, more power to em, there hasn't been nearly enough of that in Washington.
