This is how good this kid is... Dunmy fouls, lost ...still ends up with a terrific defensive performance...bogdoNOvic looked like a roasted duck...he was the xfactor in game 3-4... What took cbs so long?  Popovich would of stuck with this assignement from the start

If Ingram was there we would have drafted Ingram.

I wanted Buddy Hield at the draft and thought we may trade down to get him. Hield made 2.5 3's a game at 43% when he was traded to the kings.

But we really need Jaylen to step up for next year. If DA sees Jaylen's game elevate over the summer AND if we draft Fultz, then I would understand if DA wanted to go in a new direction and trade IT/AB/Crowder and etc.
A Fultz/Jaylen backcourt would be the longest in the NBA and a top defensive one too in a year or so.

He's getting valuable experience in games that matter. I think that experience matters for development. No other rookies can really say that outside of Brogdan.

BUT

Man, did he make some silly mistakes in that 2nd half. All part of the process, but the foul on Mahinmi and the 8 second violation were pretty silly.

I agree with the Mahinmi foul...dumb.

But the 8 second call at the very end of the game when they were not trying to score and were just running the clock out, he gets a pass from me.

Both mistakes were the best of both worlds though. He screwed up and got embarrassed and will learn from it, but it didn't cost us.

If Iggy at 6'6 can do a nice defensive job on Lebron.. maybe Jaylen can take the assignment asap/moving fwd

Celts have nobody else that could hang with Lebron..actually there arent many in the world...that is how athletic/explosive/strong Brown is

a Fultz/Brown backcourt would not be a top defensive back court in a year or two.

Whoa. That, mi amigo, is patently inaccurate. Chitown were itching for Dunn and we might have pulled the trigger on the Jimmy deal if we weren't so enamored with Jaylen. Remember, neither Wade nor Rondo had signed at the time of the draft, and it seemed likely the Bulls were going to blow it up, and go all in with Dunn. Also, I think it is unreasonable speculation to say that Danny liked Ingram more than Jaylen (Simmons, fine, I'll grant you that, but only him); we worked out Jaylen a HEAP, admittedly possibly realizing that the Fakers were probably going with Brandon, but still. And about 20-30% of this forum were on the Bender bender. There were a few scattered Chriss fans, and the temptation to go with the kid who was super NBA ready with an insanely high floor (Murray) would have been VERY tempting, given IT's rise to stardom that year.

Yet ANOTHER pick that Danny will have to wait at least 3 or 4 years before he will get any credit..

it could not have been more clear that Dario was referring to the "choice between brown or ingram" where he is correct that there was never a choice.

Better chance for Hayward, Griffin FA additions... Plus Brown, 2017, 2018 nets picks...this club will be be ready for the short term and stacked for the long term

I think it probably depends on are success against the Cavs if we make it to that round. For example if we win a couple games and push it to 6 games, or if we lose in 7, that means we're closer to competing for a title than anyone expected. If that's the case, then I could see DA going hard for George/Butler thus having to give up Brown and a Brooklyn pick.

That would be a big mistake.
