Ford just ranked Yab as the 4th best prospect drafted in 2016, ahead of Brown, Ingram, and Chriss.   Both Pelton and Ford have Zizic as the 5th best prospect and both of them have Zizic ahead of Brown, Ingram, and Chriss.  Kinda Weird!

My kind of weird.

Jackson, Nader and I think Rozier will be on that SL team as well.
Totally for oft about Nader and Jackson.

Summer League Champs. Calling it right now.

Yabu's highlights from last game.

Thanks TP

He is a train, when he gets moving.  I don't think he is much of an elite leaper injury or not.  But he is so strong he can hold his position well and fling guys around. Bayfat will always be a problem for him somewhat.

only watched first half and yabusele on ball defense was impressive

That is why they call him the "Dancing Bear".

Back at you Celtics. Although I'm suprised you don't like his leaping ability, maybe not off two feet, but that's something that blew me away about him.

explosive when he's got momentum going to the rim at 270 pounds, really can't compare him to anyone.

Ok let's bring some reality to this.

In my opinion he's a mix of BBD, Diaw and Sully. He could be a piece to a title but

If he improves his weight I think he can become Draymond Green

He doesn't have the leaping ability or tenacity of Barkley.

Just my opinion but until I see him against better competition where the intensity is ramped up, this is worse defense than I see in college.

(shrugs shoulders)

I don't know. It looks to me like he gets up there pretty well.

I will personally guarantee he jumps higher than Draymond right now. Even though he's got 40 pounds on Green he jumps higher no question, that's impressive.

Greens no step vertical is 28" and his max vertical was 33".

Smart jumped 33" standing vertical, he jumped 36" max vertical. and my max vertical was 33" back in my phisical prime.

Which is to say I could jump, but not that high. Guaranteed Yabu jumps a lot higher than  me or Draymond ever could.

There is one measurement of 27.5" vertical, but that is likely garbage, it's his standing vertical if anything. His max vertical is around 35 to 36".

That's a big reason Ainge shocked everyone at #16. That and his shooting is excellent, good ball handler and rebounder.

But remember, Ainge sucks at drafting per many on this board.

Freight train!  Love seeing him throw his weight around...  he looked a little tentative during SL

Chiselled Sully,  Mini Shaq ... whatever you call this monster...can't wait to see him in the lineup soon

Nice.

He's never going to be Draymond on defense but almost nobody is Draymond on defense. He seems to have a nice feel for the game and could be a Draymond-type as a passer. I think when he's ready he'll fit in with what Brad likes to do.

With his size and handle, does anyone else get a little Antoine Walker vibe? Can the Dancing Bear do the shimmy?

He's a force and pretty skilled, but definitely seemed to struggle a bit getting off the floor in that video.  He's not fat, but keeping his weight down will be a real key to his athleticism not declining.

Would rather have Yabu off the deep bench than James Young right now.  :'(

Agreed. In addition here's a link to tonight's highlights: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uXLqK5WkaIQ

I've been impressed with his performance so far in Maine. 10/14 from the field, 8 rebounds 2 blocks. He got up there on that baseline drive.

I want to temper expectations a little because he's still young and this is the D League he's playing in. There might not even be a roster spot for him next season. But I love his skillset and size. He could really be something. But it'll be a few years before we see it at the NBA stage.

Those factors rarely get mentioned around here in the daily Yabu Fan Club meetings.
