Just when we thought Marcus Smart was starting to get his offense on track, he goes back to his old ways.

49% TS
37.5% FG
Below 30% from 3....
50.8% finishing at the rim.

Wow, thats turrible as Chuck Barkley would say. Even he wouldn't deny it: "Erneh, this time you right bout dem anuhlytics. Mahcus can't shoot."

What's worse is that he is averaging those numbers while having good mechanics this year. No feel on his shot.

I am not worried at all. Everything else he brings to the table far exceeds and negative analytics.

I've said it a lot on here. Smart will never be a good shooter from deep. He won't be anything more than ok at best and when he figures that out and stops shooting 4+ three's a game he will start to reach his full potential.  You just don't learn how to shoot after years of being a terrible shooter. It just doesn't happen.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Another stat-sheet fanatic post. ::)

Smart is never a black hole despite his shooting woes.

Then I hate this pick. This guy is basically going to be a black hole on offense if he won't improve. Threes, mid range, finishing at the rim, you name it.
Let me guess, we are unlucky, end up with the third pick, and end up drafting Josh Marcus Smart Jackson. Now we have three of the same f*cking players, and we wont score more than 70 a game in the future.

Are you serious?

You think offense wins games

I would love to have Jackson on this team.

And you wont beat teams giving up 100 plus points a game

I think you guys should be worried about jaylen's fts;he cost us this game by going 5 for 10 on fts ala Shaq efficiency. I think Smart is just going to improve on his shot selection and get his %s to an ok level so he'll be fine, he just needs some more work. But Jaylen has been shooting fts pretty badly recently so it's a bit worrying (at least smart is pretty good at the ft line)
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

You're naive if you think Jackson would be redundant. He moves well without the ball and knows how to cut well to the rim like Bradley. Not to mention, he's a very good slasher and can create separation off the dribble. His 3pt% is also improving.

I bet you've pick guys like Stauskas and Jimmer to be future all-stars during the draft.

My expectations of Smart is a slightly richer man's Mike Conley.
But your expectations of Smart seem to be freaking Thabo Sefolosha.

If you guys are not worried because your expectations are the latter, then that explains it. If Marcus Smart is anything less than a borderline All-Star player, then he is a dissapointment for me.
