The guy is TERRIBLE.

The common consensus among the Celtics die-hards is to overrate mediocre talents as long as the said talent is donning green.  It's the reason why they hail Danny on every awful action or inaction.

Stop it.

Rosier is awful and his perceived ceiling is low as hell.  What is wrong with people around here?  (I'm especially looking at OP)

I'm of the mind that the playoffs is ALWAYS the deciding factor of where players and teams stand.  We'll see...

This is a ridiculous thread.

You lose some credibility when you repeatedly show you can't even spell his name right.

the point guard position one of most difficult positions to learn in NBA add to that defense against very good offensive players
rozier is anything but terrible and he is still young by kris dunn, buddy heild standards
-how are they doing?

i also stated i had been lukewarm last year but that he has come a long way, painted his elite skills and his finishing weakness and was complimentary to his growth
,stated he was better than jackson and a luxury with the way our guards get injured-
with his so limited time in first season, rozierhas made a huge jump
so why is this thread ridiculous -if rozier is so bad why is brad playing him,if he has no potential why is he playing in rotation and not in maine
your close mindedness blocks you to any growth and is a bar against any information, your contempt for danny and those that support his attempts is rather obvious
last year the celts lost avery, crowder was hobbled and kelly injured and you want to judge only by playoffs--the team was gutted but still put up a fight

We have had threads talking about how we should trade Marcus for Okafor.

This is far from ridiculous.

Title could use a little work - it's Devin Booker's second year aswell.

This is a ridiculous thread.

1. Its Rozier
2. Generalising fans of a certain team on a forum that you're posting in is a great way to draw the ire of pretty much all that read what you type.
3. A perception of a player's ceiling isn't the same from every fan. Your perception is different to the OP's. That's why it's a perception.
4. You contradict yourself by saying you think he's awful, then say you'll wait and see till the playoffs, then once again call the thread ridiculous.

He needs to be more efficient  when he plays. Tendency is to dribble too much before making decisions. Doesn't work well in this style offense. He tries hard on defense, rebounds well for s guard and clearly has potential to be decent outside shooter. Also has quick hands defensively. I would have included him in trade for Okafor even if just a rental but maybe Danny wants to keep as insurance in case we lose AB and/or IT to FA.
Me too.  Somewhere along the line here, DA is going to lose some assets for essentially nothing.  He was brilliant with the draft-n-stash last season, keeping 3 players.  Can he do it again?  Hard to say, the asset pile is still pretty high.  As always, it's a numbers game and you absolutely have to figure out what to do with Zizic, Yabu, Nader, Jackson, BKN17 at an absolute minimum.  Where does that leave Rozier?  The chance that Okafor would turn into something was worth losing Rozier, IMO.

I don't accept the notion that he's only a 2nd year player so give him another chance.  I do that for KO but not Rozier.  Why?  Because KO has the chance to be a unique player for the modern NBA, a 7 footer who shoots from the outside and handle/pass the ball like a guard.  Rozier, however, is just another undersized SG.  He peaked out towards the end of Summer League (that should tell you something) and hasn't been from much since then.

Few people saw the Rozier pick coming.  Danny saw something in this kid and he's turned out to be a legit NBA player.  the question is whether he's seen anything else since then.  Personally, I have not.

I agree that he's improving and needs some minutes on the floor.

But when he messes up, I'd pull him quickly.

How many times did the guy calling this thread ridiculous tell Danny to go to hell?

I saw him do that at least twice. This is a crap blog unless one ignores quite a number of people.
Yup, that's the necessary skill.  BTW, you can say the same thing about Facebook, Twitter and virtually every other on-line forum.  Comes with the territory...

agreed. and, mercifully, cb does have an ignore function if things get too much for some posters.

Almost every time Rozier tries to finish at the rim with a finger roll.
He has missed that shot the last 10 times he has tried it.
Someone whose opinion he respects needs to tell him to try a hook, a floater, or take one more dribble and try a reverse layup like IT.

I think Rozier's ceiling is probably as a strong, backup, PG who can do a little bit of everything good but nothing great. Unfortunately, with the best players in the upcoming draft being guards or wing players there will be a serious roster crunch next year.

If the Celtics take Fultz or Ball, or even Jackson, they will get immediate minutes like Smart and Brown did before them. If the pick is Fultz or Ball, they immediately will step into Rozier's slot. If the pick is Jackson, he will be the backup SF, moving Brown to the backcourt and dropping Rozier from the rotation as well.

I think both Rozier and Bradley will be roster casualities possibly as soon as this summer or possibly as late next year's trade deadline. Rozier has a future in this league, not one as a star but as a player, but I just don't see it being with the Celtics.

Rozier is a good cheap backup guard option right now.  Exactly what we drafted him for.

While I agree with your prediction on roster slots, I disagree re Bradley being traded. I think Danny signs him long term. And that he will keep Rozier in case he can't re-sign Thomas.
