Watching that alley-oop makes me wonder if he can be as good as Jordon

Lets not get too ahead of our selves. People forget how good Jordan was back when he first came into the league. Brown is more of a smooth athlete. Jordan was more like Westbrook, quick and powerful. And had really good handles.

Brown has been good, and playing on a playoff team has helped and hurt. You have the vets with experience, but you also don't have to playing time to work on your game. I'm seeing right now, more of a Jimmy Butler with a better outside shot for Brown. All Star player a tier below the Birds/Jordans/LeBrons. But he could still surprise and take it to that level.

Omg imagine a Big 3 of Smart, Brown, and Fultz?

Salivating.

Jaylen Brown can become our next Kevin Durant one day.

A big 3 always needs someone inside, it's hard to win a title with an outisde big 3.

That said, we have to be very glad. With Ingram at this level and Simmons injured, right now Jaylen Brown is the best player of 2016 draft. And many ripped Ainge because of the pick  ::)

Jaylen has an extremely rare combination of athleticism, character, intelligence and attitude to become an all time great! These qualities are almost never seen in the abundance that this young man displays. All he has to do is keep working on his game and he will eventually become a fantastic ball player.

I keep reading that he needs to improve his shot and once he gets this or gets that he will be dominant. While I agree with this I also wonder how much of this is just the Celtics system kind of holding him back. By that, I mean they just want to make sure that he succeeds as what he is doing and doesnt try and do too much. He looks like he can get by almost anyone and once he can hit the pullup J off the dribble, look out!

I TIVO'd his dunk a few games ago, the one where there was a phantom whistle on IT I think. Anyway, JB had his head very close to the rim. I hear that often on players dunks but rarely find it to be true. I went throug that dunk though frame by frame and Jaylen's head had to be no farther then 6 inches from the rim. That would put his vertical on the dunk at close to 36 and since he was trying not to hit the rim I am betting it's a little higher.

I once read that MJ had only a 42 inch vertical on dunk attempts because it's harder to jump holding a basketball. It looks like JB's does not have real explosive jumping like Dominique or MJ but he gets up there. Lebron is the same, he jumps very high but still does not explode into it like other players do.

A none-trade clause should be put in next contract.

That's not even an option. No trade clauses require having 10 years in the league, and at least 5 on the team you get the no trade clause with (those 5 years do not need to be consecutive or happen right before signing with a no trade clause, though)
I'm bitter.

Lol Brown is not Jordan. He doesn't have the same athleticism imo. Also I've noticed Brown gets out of breath easily. Jordan was a freak. At the end of the day, Brown has a chance to be like Kwai Leonard. Which means superstar. I don't see the Butler comps. Brown is a way better shooter than Butler was during his rookie season, and let's not forget how much older Butler was as well.

Jaylen got 16 points and 8 rebounds in 23 minutes.
And someone here said they still want Ingram?

I'm a Jaylen Brown fan from day one but did not think last night was one of his better games. Laker defense was porous. He had difficulty getting by guys last night when he put it to floor. Just need some perspective. Guys are too quick to project him to the hall of fame. He's going to be really good but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Superstars like Jordan, Bird and LeBron had an immediate impact as rookies, changing the fortunes of their teams overnight.  Jaylen has not shown this in his rookie year, he has been more inconsistent.  Jimmy Butler seems like a better comparison.

I'm with Footey.  Highlight reel dunks don't tell you much about a guy as a basketball player.  You don't have to look any further than Gerald Green to see that.  I'm bullish on the kid, but the Jordan/Pippen/Dominique comps are a little outside my comfort zone.

Yeah, and Jimmy Butler is one of the top 15 players in the NBA, some people even say he's top 10. Hence why Ainge was shy to pull the trigger on a Butler trade. Imagine trading AT LEAST a top 3 pick in a good draft, Jae Crowder on the best non-rookie contract in the league and the next Jimmy B (with more athleticism) just for Butler. That's what your looking at if you believe in this guy, and we have good reason to believe in this guy. He's gonna be a very good player. Work ethic and defense is almost vet level, and that first step is gonna be just lethal when he learns to finish consistently.

Yes Jordan was a freak athlete. However, it is unfair to judge that Brown is somehow a lesser athlete because he seems to breathe more heavily.

That said, the Butler/Kawai comparisons sounds about right. Brown is not the next coming of Jordan.
