Interesting tidbit: #Celtics president Danny Ainge said on @Toucherandrich Guerschon Yabusele likely to play for @maineredclaws this year.

Celtics coach Brad Stevens is very excited about what he's seen from Yabusele this season and noted his versatility will be a huge asset when he makes it to the big show. Via Jay King of MassLive:

Quote
"I just think he's a guy that's capable of being versatile on offense with his ability to post, his ability to pass, his ability to play in the seams off pick-and-rolls, etc.," Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said Friday before a shootaround in Toronto. "And then defensively one of the things we really liked coming out of the draft was his feet. We thought that his ability to move laterally at that size was huge. So whether he's playing the 4, playing spot minutes at the 5, whatever the case may be, I think the more basketball the better for him right now. But certainly he's had a good year."

Can't wait to see how this guy pans out.

I actually was shocked when he picked him. I remember seeing his highlights and thinking he could be like a Draymond Green hybrid without the ultimate forward passing, but versatility to switch on defenders and considering his bulk and surprising lateral quickness. We can only wait and ponder this guys ceiling.

Currently 1-1 against Shenzhen Leopards who is currently the sixth best team in their league. Sharks are 30-8 when you take into account they have Jimmer Freddette, who should arguably have a MVP season in the CBA. 37.4 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 4.3 APG.

Yabusele has a very nice 21.9 PPG, 9.6 RPG, and 2.1 APG.

Good things.  Looks like his high school season is just about over.

now maybe we can see whether yabusele plays credible defense. his offense looks very good. but the questions prior to the draft centered around his defense.

but good news that he will be close to the celtics now.

Lets not have high expectations on Zizic or Yabu

If they can off the bench great...anything more gravy

Don't forget that both Yabusele and Zizic are basically the same age as Brown. They aren't going to come in and solve a Tom of problems from day one. It's going the be a process with them as well.

Can zizic even shoot?

From the highlights they are 80 percent pnr , drive , layups/dunks

That wont fly all the time at the nba level

Foul shots. And occasionally a 15 footer, based on the tape.  Unrealistic to expect anything beyond that in the short term.  Am sure Brad will have him working on his 3 point range when he gets here.  Frankly would be surprised if he is not already working on it, given how the game is trending, both here and in Europe.

I think it will for like 15 minutes a game off the bench.

Zizic I'm pretty sure will be able to play 10~15 off the bench competently his first season.

Yabusele I have no idea. Hope he does well for the Red Claws. (We probably won't be looking to bring him over until 2018 anyway)

Zizic is doing pretty good in Euroleague and the tough turkish league. you can never be sure but it looks like he can be at least a 15min guy in the nba
