Interesting tidbit: #Celtics president Danny Ainge said on @Toucherandrich Guerschon Yabusele likely to play for @maineredclaws this year.
Celtics coach Brad Stevens is very excited about what he's seen from Yabusele this season and noted his versatility will be a huge asset when he makes it to the big show. Via Jay King of MassLive:
"I just think he's a guy that's capable of being versatile on offense with his ability to post, his ability to pass, his ability to play in the seams off pick-and-rolls, etc.," Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said Friday before a shootaround in Toronto. "And then defensively one of the things we really liked coming out of the draft was his feet. We thought that his ability to move laterally at that size was huge. So whether he's playing the 4, playing spot minutes at the 5, whatever the case may be, I think the more basketball the better for him right now. But certainly he's had a good year."
Can't wait to see how this guy pans out.
I actually was shocked when he picked him. I remember seeing his highlights and thinking he could be like a Draymond Green hybrid without the ultimate forward passing, but versatility to switch on defenders and considering his bulk and surprising lateral quickness. We can only wait and ponder this guys ceiling.
Currently 1-1 against Shenzhen Leopards who is currently the sixth best team in their league. Sharks are 30-8 when you take into account they have Jimmer Freddette, who should arguably have a MVP season in the CBA. 37.4 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 4.3 APG.
Yabusele has a very nice 21.9 PPG, 9.6 RPG, and 2.1 APG.
