Celtics were never interested in DeMarcus Cousins

So much for the Boogie watch.  I bet Danny would look at the latest forum topics, see the Demarcus Cousin watch, and just laugh.  We loyal fans think we know the plans of the team, when we really don't.

Actually, every poster here is a member of the Celtics' front office except you, saltlover (who despite trying to deny it we all know is really Larry Coon), and a few posters that are bots.

Actually, I'm Mike Zarren.  I'm not going to comment on the Cousins situation, but I'll own up to the fact that we did make a play for Westbrook this summer, but not Blake Griffin.

Yup, which is exactly what you are doing. Nowhere in that article does IT admit to recruiting DMC. Nowhere does he say he wants DMC here. He said it would be good if DMC were here but that isn't saying he wants him here. IT then goes on to say how he dealt with Cousins on the court and that Cousins respected him. That's it.

My guess is IT was asked if it would be great to have Cousins traded to Boston and gave a politically correct answer and then danced around the subject by discussing how he got along with him on the floor and how DMC felt about him. Let's remember, when IT left Sactown, he and Cousins weren't on best of terms. They made up later but there was heat between them for a while.

As much as I distrust the media, I don't believe that every single publication that linked us to Cousins was making stuff up. I'll buy that Danny cooled recently, but that we never had interest? I think that's a Very Fake News by the Failing Boston Globe.

I take it that he researched him as much as he has researched any player and by the time the Kings were listening to offers, the Celtics had already crossed him off their list.

Of course the C's would have interest in a talent like Cousins. They did their due diligence I'm sure, that's their job. But too many red flags by ex-Kings employees etc..

As was posted in another thread by TheOne, IT apparently didn't like Cousins' fit here. And, as a teammate of Cousins' for three years, I'd imagine his opinion carries some weight.
