So much for the Boogie watch.  I bet Danny would look at the latest forum topics, see the Demarcus Cousin watch, and just laugh.  We loyal fans think we know the plans of the team, when we really don't.

I am sure the Celtics front office has a presence on CB.

Actually, every poster here is a member of the Celtics' front office except you, saltlover (who despite trying to deny it we all know is really Larry Coon), and a few posters that are bots.

Actually, I'm Mike Zarren.  I'm not going to comment on the Cousins situation, but I'll own up to the fact that we did make a play for Westbrook this summer, but not Blake Griffin.

  ;)

Just another case of people attaching to whatever information underscores their skewed thinking in order to make them feel better.
Yup, which is exactly what you are doing. Nowhere in that article does IT admit to recruiting DMC. Nowhere does he say he wants DMC here. He said it would be good if DMC were here but that isn't saying he wants him here. IT then goes on to say how he dealt with Cousins on the court and that Cousins respected him. That's it.

My guess is IT was asked if it would be great to have Cousins traded to Boston and gave a politically correct answer and then danced around the subject by discussing how he got along with him on the floor and how DMC felt about him. Let's remember, when IT left Sactown, he and Cousins weren't on best of terms. They made up later but there was heat between them for a while.

You made my point  ;D

It's great to see certain people rubbing their anti-Cousins "success" in the faces of those who hoped to land him. Makes me feel so warm and fuzzy.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

As much as I distrust the media, I don't believe that every single publication that linked us to Cousins was making stuff up. I'll buy that Danny cooled recently, but that we never had interest? I think that's a Very Fake News by the Failing Boston Globe.

I take it that he researched him as much as he has researched any player and by the time the Kings were listening to offers, the Celtics had already crossed him off their list.

Love this. 10 threads a day of Cs blog Cousins drivel for 3 years, and Ainge never even wanted the guy.

Now what? What else is to talk about besides Cousins (and Trump)?

TP, that is a very reasonable explanation.

Of course the C's would have interest in a talent like Cousins. They did their due diligence I'm sure, that's their job. But too many red flags by ex-Kings employees etc..

As was posted in another thread by TheOne, IT apparently didn't like Cousins' fit here. And, as a teammate of Cousins' for three years, I'd imagine his opinion carries some weight.

Vlade Divac throwing a little shade at the departing Cousins:

β€œIt was time for a change and I decided this was the best direction for the organization, said Divac. β€œWinning begins with culture and character matters. With the upcoming draft class set to be one of the strongest in a decade, this trade will allow us to build the depth needed for a talented and developing roster moving forward. We thank DeMarcus for his contributions and wish him all the best in New Orleans. The fans in Sacramento are the best in the world and we are all committed to building a team that will continue to make Sacramento proud.”

Well, if history is any indication we have about 2 more years of Butler talk to look forward to
I'm bitter.
