In my opinion, taking Josh Jackson over Markelle Fultz would be insane.

It really depends on result of workout and interviews. If Danny found major red flags on Fultz, he'll take Jackson instead and vice versa. That said, Jackson fits the mold of the Celtics Pride. Pure grit and hustle and brings impact on defensive end. Unselfish to boot too.

I'll bet you'll be the first guy to praise the kid if he was picked and impresses.

I think Fultz or Ball could develop well with IT and AB/Smart, just in different capacities.  And Jackson being projected as anything less than elite doesnt warrant the #2 pick with Jae / Brown imo.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Ball up 40 on Fultz in Washington.  I take the guy who knows how to make the team better.

Fultz put up 25 with the next three highest scorers on his team totaled 28.  Ball was playing with three other guys who also scored 20 or more.  How much more could he do?

Mike

Choose a competitive college team.

He chose to play at Washington when Dejounte Murray and Marquise Chriss were there. No one expected those 2 to declare last year for the draft but they had good years and left.

Imagine how good they'd be with those 2 and Fultz...

And besides which, prospect analysis is about how these players will perform at the next level.
Fultz looks like the better NBA prospect because of his complete game and ability to shoot from anywhere on the floor.

Ball looks great, but not on the same level as Fultz.
Fultz will be even better in the NBA with NBA spacing.

They would've been, but it didn't happen for a reason, right?.  Draftexpress had Chriss going #4. Also think Murray is going to be the steal of that draft.  Both impressed enough to make an early leap in one year, imo.

I've only watched highlights / read articles, but Fultz approaches the game almost too casually, reminds me of Joe Johnson. And he could've played anywhere in the country.

Seen less of Ball, but he looks like he'll need serious work on D.  Flip side, he's got great size and talent, and guys like IT and Steph are showing that offensive may trump defense in today's league.

He committed to UW when they were both there, and they would have sold him on playing with those 2 when he committed.

Watch a bit more of Fultz, because he pumps his fist, gets fired up plenty- especially under contact. I think a lot of people would say IT looks like he's not trying, when he's destroying everyone. Same with Harden, same with Curry. Their games look effortless, and often like they're just out there messing around casually.

But yeah, Fultz is the real deal.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Absolutely. He's an excellent prospect. He would've been in the conversation for #1 last year and that Draft would've been considered a "two player" affair with Ingram on the outside looking in. I'd be thrilled to land a prospect of his caliber, but I would not even consider taking him over Markelle Fultz.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

I'm a much bigger Jackson fan but Fultz is the obvious choice for the first pick.  Now, I think Fultz has been overrated in the media and the fan base on his talent.  I've watched a few of his games and I'm not convinced he is better than Ben Simmons.  One thing I will credit him is his ability to get stats.  Just can't sell that alone as worthy for the first pick.  Also, the hype over the draft's strength is wack (though that plays really well for the Celtics if they decide to move for a better player).

If it turns out that Fultz is D'angelo Russell 2.0, I wouldn't be against adding Boogie or upcoming star that a team wants the top pick

Jackson. You are getting like a Antawn Jamieson, Iguadala

Vs Fultz who is like a McCollum

You might be getting a little more ppg on a consistent basis from Fultz, but Jackson would provide more overall impact. More versatility
