As much as I love the shoutout to KG and Pierce. This is pathetic. The Bulls should waive Rondo ASAP. He is delusional at this point.
How is he delusional?  I like that Rondo is sticking up for the role players and younger players on the team.  Butler and Wade shouldn't be complaining to the media and publicly placing the blame on their teammates.  You keep that stuff behind closed doors.
He is delusional in saying he is a good teammate. If he was a good teammate he wouldnt have quit on his team in Dallas and he wouldnt have gotten less than Timofey Mozgov after leading the NBA in assists. He is not a good teammate. If he was a good teammate, he would have enough respect in that lockerroom to be able to say these things instead of blasting them on social media.

The content in his post is correct. I dont think Wade or Butler should have called guys out. The fact that he threw it in an instagram post is pathetic.

this post: pathetic, not too delusional
Rondo: delusional, should be cut
I've seen numerous mentions related to Rondo mentoring teammates including Cousins.  Rondo's problem in Dallas was with Carlisle not his teammates.  Don't think Carlisle ever wanted Rondo so it was doomed when the trade occurred.

Wade and Butler throwing their teammates under the bus publicly was pathetic.  Once they started it, I have no problem with Rondo defending his teammates publicly.

Man, I really miss Pre-ACL Rondo...the guy who made lots of NBA players look stupid, with his speed and crazy passes.

He quit on the team. Simple as that. No good teammate does that. Wade and Butler were in the wrong but not pathetic. The Bulls needed a wakeup call and the best player on the team and a guy who has won 3 rings have the credibility to make that statement.

I would rather this all be said in the locker room but Rondo is just stoking flames here and proving his immaturity.

Does this change anyone minds on bringing in Jimmy? He faced some criticism last year about his leadership. Although it is easy to blame Rose for last year and say Rondo is just a knucklehead.

Fred Hoiberg.  Plucked from college.  Iowa State I think.

I knew the answer to both questions. It's just sad to me that neither of them seem to be able to control / coach their teams.

This mess getting out in CHI is partly the Coach's fault - just like the train wreck in NY where Melo will seemingly (and undeservedly) take blame there as well.

I wish Rondo wouldn't have contributed to the chaos with this post, but of course it has substance to it.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
No problem with what Rondo has said here. As others have mentioned, his issues in the past  have been with coaches, not teammates. He has always been quiet - happy that he spoke up about something that is genuinely bothersome to him while at the same time sticking up for his teammates that probably feel like crap after the Wade/Butler stuff.

bolded nails this.

I think a lot of the blame has got to be directed at the GMs as well. Both these teams were doomed from day 1 with the roster construction. Most of us on Cs Blog saw both these implosions coming. I mean Chicago had 2 options 1. put young guys around Butler and build with him and 2. trade Butler for major assets and start over. Instead they got two ball dominant vets with big personalities in Rondo and Wade.

Chicago should have moved on from every vet they could and built around KP. Instead they signed Noah to the worst contract of the summer(one where Mozgov got like 16 mil a year) and traded for washed up diva point gaurd Derrick rose.

Both coaches were doomed. It would take a Doc Rivers level personality manager to keep either of those teams from falling apart.

The mess in NY is clearly on Phil, not the coach.  He's trying to bait Melo into accepting a trade elsewhere, should he be able to negotiate one.  So glad we have steady management.

Not really. Chicago's a pretty toxic situation, so I'm willing to cut him some slack.

Being the best player or winning 3 rings doesn't make you a good leader.  Butler and Wade showed poor leadership by blasting their teammates in public.  They've forced their teammates to defend themselves publicly.  Which at least two, besides Rondo, have already done so.   However bad the situation actually was they've made it worse.
