Have to say I'm genuinely concerned that Crowder spends his free time reading threads like this and using it as motivation.  He seems like that kind of a guy.

I think it was Bill Simmons one time mentioned that most NBA guys spend a lot of time checking their twitter mentions and the like. If Crowder does the same, apparently he's not different from most NBA players.

And if he's motivated to play tough defense and knock down 3's then I don't care where the motivation comes from, really.

1) His skin is thin. Gets offended by the slightest things and is not very professional on occasion. He could go off the boil any moment.

You are describing the soon to be president of OUR United States  :-\

Give me Crowder any day.  Love him

If PEOTUS could shoot 43% from three he's welcome to suit up at any time.

Boston is definitely a great yet tough sports city to play in.

I bet you if Brady and the Patriots lose three straight games sometime next season (and I don't think it happens and it rarely ever happens - but just as an example), then the media would talk nonstop about best trade ideas for Brady.

There are people on this board who think Isaiah Thomas is nothing more than trade bait at this point, despite being the leading scorer in the Eastern Conference on a team trying to progress into contention a year or two from now.

He was under rated when we got him but generally vastly over rated by many on this board.   I have seen threads trying to say he is a top ten SF which are absurd.   He is a solid middle of the pack starter who plays with grit.

Out of curiosity, who would you say are the top 10 small forwards in the league?
I'm bitter.

IMO Crowder is a border line starter on most teams. He is a less than average passer, and ball handler.
If he's not hitting his 3, he struggles to score. However, he is a pretty good 3 point shooter. His effort is good on defense in general. His lack of size, athleticism, and length probably hinder him when forced to score off the dribble.

Unfortunately he isn't our biggest need, although an up grade would do wonders to take some of the burden off the shoulders of IT and Bradley.

I think some over rate him on this forum. He's ok.

"Borderline starter" implies that most teams have someone better than him at small forward.  Who are the 20 or so (to account for 2/3rds, or "most", of the league) small forwards that would start over him?

Quote of the day, well done.

Crowder has the best RPM on the team, Brown and Green the worst of the regulars.  Repeat after me, "Crowder is not the player you want to get rid of".

Not a very novel point from Simmons.  These guys are human after all, and do the same things you or I would.

Anyone who thinks Brown or Green are capable of doing anything close to replacing Crowder are seriously underrating Crowder.   Every single team in the league would be happy to have Crowder play for their team in some capacity, title contenders included.  How can a guy like that be overrated?

By the way, I enjoyed reading this thread simply for the different subject matter.  So many of our threads have become rehashed over and over, with the same people saying the same things, usually about Sixers players or Marcus Smart.  This one was refreshing.
