  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Promising sign. Had a good game.

Fingers crossed his 3 point shooting can follow suit and get up over 35%.

Read that last line again. One more time.

Marcus spent the last off season getting the hitch out of his jumper.  I think he spends next off season getting his new shot to go in much more often.  I really think his jumper will be much improved come next season.

This is very encouraging.

At the very least, it shows he has the willingness to train hard in order to improve.

Smart was shooting his free throws too quickly. He has slowed down now. Someone must of told him.

Overall smarts offensive game is much easier to watch this year.

Hopefully the 3 pt percentage follows suit.

Imagine that next year Smart shoots a Kyle Korver like 48% from three for the season.

That really is awesome news though TP due pointing that out. That's not easy to do. I think Smart could be deadly from 14 ft and in right now.

He's showing he does have shooting touch, at least from close to the hoop.

good points above everyone. the new shot i saw from smart this year is the floater when he drives. if he can perfect that, he becomes a solid offensive player.

i strikes me the most in his shooting is how rondo-esque he is sometimes. too often he takes an off balance, off center shot and misses them. i think CBS has to discipline him to only take high percentage shots and to use proper form when shooting.

but if he can improve his FT%, he can improve his shooting percentage as well.

He has pulled up the percentage a bit from early in the year and is up to 74%

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/2990992/marcus-smart

I think he needs to take 500-1000 shots a day in the offseason, and they should not be all threes.  A coach should observe him and correct the faults you point out so he develops new correct habits.

He has some bad muscle memory right now.  He tends to play better in the clutch situations.

Clutch Statistics

(4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left, neither team ahead by more than 5 points)
Floor Time statistics
Min      Net Pts     Off     Def    Net48    W     L      Win%
 70%     +32    134.8  108.5   26.3     15       6       71.4%

These stats represent how the team performed in clutch situations while the player was on the floor.

Everyone is shooting better fts in the second half of the season (Except KO). Even Amir Johnson a career 50% shooter is shooting close to 80%.

Maybe it was something the entire team worked on kinda like how they are making sure not to give away Offensive Rebounds.

Just using the eye test from watching the games, he seems to be finding himself on the offensive end. He's obviously been a great facilitator this year, but he seems to be more comfortable with his shot selection and not just being content with jacking up useless threes all game. He is never going to a great off-ball offensive player like they were trying to make him the first two years but his creation on offense with the ball in his hands has been much better. He's been trying to get to the hoop more, he's added that floater, and I like that he's finally using his strength in the post on other guards.

I wish he would take more time (like as long as Jerebko does) to gather his shot before shooting threes (obviously it's tough to get that much time, but I'd be okay if that means he shoit's fewer threes). When he takes time to gather himself and not rush the shot he does way better

He also needs to shoot more corner 3s, they've only made up 18.6% of his 3s but he's shooting 50% on them
I'm bitter.

He needs to put in the reps and stay healthy , then I think one day he can be an average shooter , which is fine given his Ball IQ on the court and defense.

Took AB a few years to develop into the nice jump shooter he is .

Smart been injured on and off since he came.

Not sure where you got those numbers, but Amir is a career 67.6% FT shooter and shooting 70.4% this year
