Smart is a great player, built for playoff basketball.
He needs to get rid of the stupid haircut, however.

If he changes his hair and becomes a 50% free throw shooter, I will forever call you Delilah.

Everyone is shooting better fts in the second half of the season (Except KO). Even Amir Johnson a career 50% shooter is shooting close to 80%.

Maybe it was something the entire team worked on kinda like how they are making sure not to give away Offensive Rebounds.

Not sure where you got those numbers, but Amir is a career 67.6% FT shooter and shooting 70.4% this year

Aren't we talking about the last twelve games (2nd half of the season) ? Saw a stat in yesterday's games that showed he was shooting in the 80% range for that period.

My bad on Amir's FT shooting numbers, but I seem to remember him shooting about 57% last year.

Olynyk and Smart have the ugliest haircuts in Celtic history.

Yeah, but that was his worst FT year of his career, and the only time he'd been below 60%.  Most years he is above 65%.  He's not a great free throw shooter, but he's generally reliable.  Don't know what happened last season.

He needs to put in the reps and stay healthy , then I think one day he can be an average shooter , which is fine given his Ball IQ on the court and defense.

Took AB a few years to develop into the nice jump shooter he is .

Smart been injured on and off since he came.

Wow, it's nice to meet someone else on this blog who can remember to keep that in mind.  TP.

I know it's convenient to compare him to players who haven't been recovering from injuries their whole career, but it's not exactly meaningful.

It's like comparing 2009 Garnett to 2008 Garnett (who Smart might turn out to be if he can stay healthy for more than a few months).

Smart's shooting potential is nothing like Rondo's, in that one day he could be an average shooter.  In reality, one day he could be an elite shooter; his potential is way more like a Jason Kidd or Chauncey Billups.

His shot is already there, he just needs more confidence in taking it (which is common for a PG who is trying to be pass-first).  Going back to his rookie year he's had plenty of games with 3 or 4+ 3 pointers made.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Promising sign. Had a good game.

Fingers crossed his 3 point shooting can follow suit and get up over 35%.
Wow... thanks to the last 12 games and the lights out free throw shooting, Smart's true shooting percentage  has risen to .472... which puts him at 313th in the league (out of 348 qualified players).    Up from .463 which placed him 374th last year.  Super encouraging.   I'd love to see him crack the top 300 at some point so he can be up there with sharpshooters like Dante Exum (.505 TS% - 257th best) and Ricky Rubio (.511 TS% - 243rd best).

Yeah, but Smart's haircut doubled as a Christmas tree this year.

smart had a great shooting game in our win against the pelicans.
very efficient. 7/10 FG, 5/7 3pt, 3/3 FT 22 points + 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.

It's just 1 game but it shows that Smart is capable to play an efficient game and get the ball in the bucket at a good percentage too.

Smart's hair isn't bad.  McConnell last night had some of the dorkiest basketball player hair I've ever seen.  And Jerebko looks pretty dorky until the sides and back of his head grow out after each haircut.

Woah woah woah. Smart's hair looks like a mop someone puked in and he's a horrid shooter. I'm not saying it will be that way forever but it is for now.

Let women be the judge of that. Worry about your own scalp.
