Idk about it being a message to act. The Cavs were going to win the east before that trade, and they are more likely to win the east after it.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz

How is it a message to act when we probably weren't beating the Cavs this year before, probably aren't beating the Cavs this year after, and probably won't be beating the Cavs this year regardless of who we trade for?

I can see how it might be a message to Toronto, but the Celtics aren't going to really challenge Cleveland this year unless they make a KG-level acquisition. Cavs were already the heavy favorite in the East.

It really isn't. It was a desperation move to try to get another wing. They are still really thin at guard. Kyrie and Lebron are the only guys who can handle the ball consistently in the playoffs. If either gets injured, they will struggle.

Korver fits them perfectly, but he is less than they were hoping to get with Dunleavy. They wanted a guy who could handle the ball some and pass, but Dunleavy is always injured. They knew they needed someone to replace him.

It didn't cost them too much, but I still think their roster is flawed.

Reports say Toronto active on Millsap. Ainge may be waiting for Zeller to trade--Jan 15. You can only hope Bogut is there. I'm not optimistic about anybody else unless Ainge starts dealing his cards.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Jarrett Jack and Mario Chalmers will be the ones that will seal it for them. They no longer have Mo too and that saves some salary. Korver will be open a lot.

Williams is retiring.  The only reason he hasn't yet is the Cavs asked him to stay on so they would have his salary to trade.

Maybe more of a message of "Can we get TOR or BOS to overreact & do something stupid?"

yea...without Korver, the Celtics still aren't beating the Cavs, and i would even bet the Raptors isn't beating the Cavs either. As long as LeBron/Kyrie/Love all 3 of them stay healthy, the East is there's to take

Korver just makes it easier for them, to replace JR Smith for the time being. I think it's more of a

Korver trade is a message to Celtics to not overreact and make dumb trades that affects our future 5 years out.

I think the message is that we're better off waiting for Lebron to retire.

I'm so confused why people are acting like getting a 35 year old korver has any impact on anything. Would people react the same if they signed Hollis Thompson?

Just wondering, do you watch the Cavs play? They need better shooting at the wing. Smith who starts shoots 36% from three. Shumpert is surprisingly shooting 38% from three. His career average is actually 34%. So there is a chance that dips. Korver is shooting 40% from three, and a lost of those threes are off screens and contested. Korver is actually shooting 49% from three when open.

So if you do the math, Korver will make an impact on spacing. You just can't leave him at all to try to stop Lebron from going to the paint.
