That IS more than they got for Korver.  The Cavs 2018 pick will be very late first round, but the Pelicans pick would probably be mid-to-late-lottery after this trade (and protections on it would probably be Top-3 or Top-5)

By "salary filler" do they mean Tyreke? I mean Tyreke isn't just filler, and I'd think the Hawks want a player who can play now for them.

If the Pelicans got and could keep Milsap, they'd get a lot better. The other frontcourt position has been a position of need for the Pelicans since Davis got there.

However, this move would be a typical Washington move. It would be an improvement for a few years, but after Milsap's contract was weighing down their salary cap when he starts downhill, they would regret it.

In other words, it'd be enough to pacify Davis for now, but it would end up being the reason why he doesn't resign at the end of his current contract.

Depending on protections I would snap-call this offer if I were the Hawks.  That might be a very good first rounder and a very good second rounder they're getting in a very good draft.

The Atlanta Hawks are holding Paul Millsap trade discussions with a number of teams.

Millsap can become a free agent this offseason.

The Sacramento Kings are "very interested" in Millsap, while the Toronto Raptors, Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers have also shown interest.

The Hawks agreed to trade Kyle Korver this week to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Depends a bit on how protected the Pelicans pick is and how important it is for Atlanta to get a first in this draft as opposed to others.  New Orleans would likely make the playoffs with Milsap, but nothing is guaranteed.  That could wind up being a pick in the 8-12 range, which would far outweigh the late 2018-2019 picks you propose.
