I thought I'd post this considering Danny said that teams have called about the Brooklyn pick recently. Reading this made me think perhaps the Bulls have called Danny about what he'd be willing to give for Butler.

finally they have come to their senses....
I'd give Tier B Celtics (anyone on the bench and Jae) plus any pick other than the 2017 Nets pick. I would even do 2018 Nets but NOT 2017 Nets pick.

Price is probably still the same - AB, Crowder, Brown, one BKN pick. A very steep price to pay indeed.

I suppose if a max-level player was 'guaranteed' to sign with us this summer (moving those players would leave enough money), then I could be convinced, but that is obviously too much to give up otherwise.

I'm guessing the Bulls would start from the position that any deal HAS to include the 2017 pick.

Then it would be a question of who blinks first. At which point, I feel OK about this guy.

Where is this price from?

I like Jimmy Butler but I will be astonished if anyone gives up that much for him.  That's two starters on a playoff caliber team, a top lottery pick in a recent draft and another almost certain top lottery pick.

Butler and Lopez for Bradley, Crowder, Amir, and some sort of picks?

I mean, I'd love to swap Crowder for Zeller in this package, but I'm doubtful it's going to work.

I would take this rumor with a grain of salt. Is Bucher even reliable?

Hey Chicago!

Pick one of each:

- Smart OR Rozier
- Bradley OR Crowder
- 2017 OR 2018 BRK pick
- Zeller OR Jerebko (as filler)

We'll throw in BOTH of the 2019 1st round picks owed to the Celtics from the Grizzlies and the Clippers!

Let's make a deal!

p.s. If you want to exchange Amir Johnson for Robin Lopez as part of this deal, we are agreeable!

I am just trying to sound confident  ;D

Really, though - the deal at draft time was said to have broken down because of the inclusion of Crowder. Obviously the #3 (Brown) as well as another first (maybe it was just the #16). I can't really remember why I thought AB was in the deal.

Since that time, though, the BKN pick this year is definitely on the rise, AB has taken a leap, and Brown has shown actual potential. We could probably get away without including Brown, but Bulls aren't looking to get rid of Butler - they are likely just testing the market.

I'm with you.  That's too much.

Bradley, Rozier, Nets 17, Zeller, Celtics 18... something like that seems more reasonable.

The nets pick is a virtual lock to be top 5.

I'm wondering if Jaylen, Smart and any 2 1sts (except 2017 Nets pick) does it?

Yep. Except the Lopez part.

Too much.

Is it?

Smart / Rozier ... that's a young role player.

Bradley / Crowder ... one of these would be supplanted in the starting lineup by Butler anyway.

2017 / 2018 BRK pick ... you've got to give up one of these to get a talent like Butler.

2019 MEM / LAC picks .... these might end up as lottery picks down the line, but it seems more likely they'll be in the middle of the 1st round.

Basically, you're giving up a young role player, a starting caliber wing on a bargain deal, a likely top 5 pick, and two future mid-1sts to get a superstar wing player in his prime with 3 years left on his deal after this one at a below-market price.

What's not to love?
