I'm looking at Gerald Green's career stats. He is a crapshoot chucker? The only thing he looks reliable for is free throw shooting. Except from 2013-15, nothing in his stats says anything but chucker. Doesn't he also have a poor reputation for defense?
For his career, Gerald Green over 36 minutes has averaged 2.2 turnovers to 1.8 assists. Interestingly this year, Gerald is averaging 4.4 assists to 2.1 turnovers.
It's Brad's system, not Gerald Green?
I'm not saying Green has no chance to makeover his career with the Celtics. I just think it is highly unlikely.
Green might deserve a bit more of a role that the one broken down crashed Gerald Wallace had during his peak as a Celtic, but I am not sure he will ever merit much more than that.
Green should be Brown's backup. That might sound like harsh analysis for a veteran, but that's where I am.
I searched for info on Gerald Green for defense and a Rollie thread was the fourth result.
http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=86661.0And this is Gerald from last year on Miami:
This year they’ve got me on the best players, so I’ve taken the challenge. They give me confidence and they encourage me so much to go out and do it. I’ve never been encouraged to play defense with any other team I’ve been on.
It looks like Gerald was mad at Phoenix for criticizing his defense.
Oh, the poor baby.
He seems to me to be an RJ Hunter. People say he is a shooter. No, he is a chucker. There are guys like Green, Marcus Thornton and Jordan Crawford who will put up points for you. The caveat is they will hog the ball and miss a lot of shots.
Isaiah is so dangerous because he isn't a chucker or is becoming a more efficient shooter and he gets to the free throw line which ties in with the real shooting percentage stat.
How is Gerald Green not a chucker? And why is he so dependent on teams pampering him? God forbid anyone criticizes Gerald Green's defense! His confidence might get a boo-boo.
