Who you got and why?

I haven't posted in a while, so I hope this wasn't done already.

Hmm...

I feel like IT4 is our guys until he provides us with a reason to feel otherwise.  He has been incredible for this organization since being traded for, and should be on his way to his second straight all star appearance.

IT4 completely changed the direction of the rebuild, and I think he just fits us and we fit him.

I believe CP3 will become one of the most underrated players in history due to his lack of playoff success. The dude is absolutely incredible. Lethal shooter, top 3-5 passer of all time, excellent defender. IT4 is awesome, but CP3 is next-level greatness.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

No it doesn't get brought up much but it's something I was wondering since around this time last year.

Hard to argue that Isaiah isn't the superior scorer at this stage in their careers but it's worth noting Chris Paul is just such an outlier defensively that his value to the team might still be greater. Paul's just so much bulkier that he bother's his matchup's shot more than Isaiah does.

IT4 had an old reputation of players not wanting to play with him, while Paul seems to be an awkward fit next to Blake Griffin. Both guys seem to have issue when the opposing teams put larger players on them when things tighten up in the playoffs.

You'd build teams designed around them differently. With Isaiah you want some additional ball handling on the court to free IT to attack at will, whereas with Paul the fact that Blake Griffin is an advanced ball handler seems to work against them since Paul would rather just have his teammates finish the looks that Paul creates for them.

Personally I think IT4 has passed CP3 but if you were to say that publicly you'd get skewered since Paul is so respected around the league.

Seriously it's a blessing Suns GM was stupid enough to sign him to a team with 2 starting level PGs.  And then, stupid enough to trade him to us for Marcus Thornton and Danny's ice coffee lol

But on topic, man you gotta take CP3, he brings leadership on defense and offense. Super scrappy, better in that end than Kyle Lowry,. Great thing we have Marcus to compliment IT, huh?

I say CP3 is better obviously. But IT, contract considered, brings the team better return value.  And as I mentioned with Marcus, we don't need CP3 to contend right now.

This shouldn't even be a.question.  One's a borderline hall of famer, the other a borderline all star.

CP3, the only thing that makes me blink is age.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

CP3 by a mile.  IT is the most fun player I've seen in a long time though.

I am pretty sure that is the OP's point. If they were both 27, you would have to be insane not to take CP3.

I will stick with IT given age and contract situation, plus we already know he fits extremely well. If we had Deandre Jordan and Blake Griffin, I am sure we would be awesome, too...and we kind-of already are.

Overall accomplishments...CP3
Present skill level, durability and age...IT4
Why would I get CP3 now when a. Wewont win a championship with either. b. CP3 is already a supermax player..IT is still on the cheap til 2018.

Seriously. Chris Paul is a Hall of Famer and at age 31 a far superior player to IT on both ends. He's shown no signs of decline and even 2-3 more years of his current productivity would trump Thomas's entire career. Pick your favorite metric, he's a top 10 at minimum and perhaps a top 5 player in the league this year, just like he's been for the last decade.

Come on. We love our little guy but this is an unfair comparison.

Paul makes everybody else around him better. He gives them the ball. IT is a give me the ball and get out of the way type. Reminds me of Iverson. Both great players.

CP3 is nearing the downside ...age minus

IT is hitting his peak years .

IT is not a jerk about living somewhere other than CA.

CP3 is a diva big time, cry baby , whiner ....and he hates the Celtics and the east coast.

CP3 is like Melo at this point , his wife is happy , kids in CA ....the TV money is great.....I don't think not winning a ring is such a big deal with him anymore.

If you are talking about inserting either one of them into the team we currently have, then it's IT. If you are talking about building your team around one of these two, then it's CP3.

I don't think this team is talented enough for CP3 to be effective. When our team is moving the ball well, we get a lot of open shots, we just can't hit them at a good enough rate - and we do not finish at the rim very well. I don't know if CP3 will help us with that. I think our bigs will benefit more from CP3. But outside of Horford, none of our bigs are focal pieces anyway.
