Man still hate pau gasol

Still hate David lee with his stupid smug look after he makes a basket.  .  Where was he for the celts.  Ugh.

Pop chews out his bigs ....makes em play hard .....or he'll nail their hides .....that's why when other teams get his players they suck ......he is mean old fart

CBS .....talks about it

Well sometimes you have to acknowledge that screaming at your players won't fix poor rebounders. Olynyk, Zeller, Johnson, and even Horford aren't exactly good rebounders and we are a poor rebounding team because of it. Brad yelling at his players won't change that

That's true ...but washed up Lee goes there and plays pretty good ......he sucked sooooooo bad in Boston

Yeah, but even Lee was a good rebounder/ player his entire career just not a good fit with the system

This is the type of game that makes you think irrational thoughts about tanking because losing on purpose is preferable to trying to win only to have the other team keep you at arm's length the whole time with execution and pure talent that is so obviously superior that it's insulting.

I mean, you can't dismiss our injury issues. We've legitimately had two All-Stars miss half of the season combined. That's significant.

However, it's clear that we have major holes that we have to fix. Danny is going to have to do something in the next couple of months to upgrade our big rotation, because we can't just keep on going like we are.

Yeah, my brain says, "Injuries, chemistry, bad matchup," but my heart keeps going, "But they haven't looked really good alll yearrrrrr."

That's not even the case here, though. Kawhi is obviously far, far superior to anyone on the Celtics. He's an elite, MVP-caliber guy, and that disparity should not be undersold. However, the Spurs only other elite talent was in street clothes. Who was the Spurs second most talented guy playing tonight, Danny Green? We're not getting out-talented; we're getting outplayed.

Last game against them, the Cs got burned by Davis Bertans. Tonight, the fossilized body of Pau Gasol nearly outrebounded the whole Boston team.

kawhi makes all the difference. Look at the Cavs without Lebron. They have talent but they are not so good without LeBron. A top player changes everything or should.

Right.  The Celts were 19-19 at one point last season.

That said, I think we all hoped the team would be better from the jump than they were last year.  Last season they had to take a while to figure out that Lee shouldn't be in the lineup.

This year it's just a series of injuries and a general lack of 5 man units with experience playing together.  Not a super satisfying explanation, even if it makes total sense.

The simple reality is that we were looking for this team to take a step toward.  Not to be a title contender but to legitimately challenge Toronto as best non-Cleveland team in the East.  Instead the team has clearly taken half a step back and no one, not the players or coaches, seems to understand why.

Parker's not much at this point, and Ginobili is worse, but they hurt Boston tonight.
