http://greenstreet.weei.com/sports/boston/basketball/celtics/2016/11/29/celtics-notes-al-horford-doesnt-really-read-into-criticism-over-paternal-leave-brad-stevens-has-his-back/

2 things:

1. I just came across this article claiming there was criticism of Horford for missing last night's game to be with his wife when she gave birth. Does anyone here have a problem with it? I certainly have no problem with a player missing a game to be their for the birth of their child. That seems like a no brainer to me.

2. Al is married to a former Miss Universe. Good for him, right?

EDIT: I mean, good for her, too, I guess.

EDIT #2: Apparently it was Felger who criticized Horford. Al's sister had the correct response, IMO.

Of course it's a no-brainer.  The only debatable question is whether it's still a no-brainer if it's a playoff game.

TP to Anna Horford.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

I had absolutely NO PROBLEM with Horford missing the game. Frankly, anyone who did have a problem is quite literally an idiot.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Question is did he miss any of those Concussion games at his wife's request leading up to the birth. I can see in now from Miss Universe. "Baby, your contract is fully guaranteed, I need you by my side, don't you still love me"

This is such a non-issue.  I can't believe anyone is getting upset about this.  Is our team that good, that the media doesn't have anything else to write about than this?

hopefully Mom, Dad and baby girl are doing well!

I stopped following the sports shows years ago, but I remember Felger and Tony Massarotti used to not know much about basketball. I used to go to Shaughnessy articles to read the comments trolling him. I got tired of that also.

I like watching games. I would look at this portion of the season as the pre-season. Danny might make some moves midway.

This was good timing that we had a cupcake game. I was happy to hear they let Horford be with his family. This was a good game for Kelly Olynyk and Tyler Zeller to stretch their legs and work on their timing.

This is a non-story. I'm sure if it had been San Antonio, Horford would have played or it would have been the Celtics telling him it's early in the season and go be with your family. He just had a concussion. A little more rest never hurts. Horford is our big hope the next four years to win a title. He should be treated like fine china. Unfortunately, it looks like Amir is done, but he may come in handy if Danny wants to make a big move for a center. Brooklyn is losing games on schedule. Early on they were winning too much.

The season is young. Enjoy it. Don't make mountains out of molehills. Let these guys play a few months.

Last year Sullinger was amazing.... for one month. Let's see what happens. We are not far off from having a plausible chance at the Cinderella season.

Felger is a troll and this is just the latest example of it.

I honestly think most people don't even know what empathy is.  Too many control freaks and not enough common sense in this world or people with a sense of humor.

Too much fake empathy in this world is more like it.

Just reading the article on the main page.  I bet I'm a much kinder person.  No offense.

These same people who preach empathy would be the first to not practice it too.  Or common sense for that matter.

I bet they do really cruel things too without even realizing it.  I know they do.

Phoniest article on CB to date.  "kill the haters" am i right?  Ignorance is funny thing.  Now you are calling people trolls too. Yeah that's real empathy bunch of phony bs.   Puhlease hypocrites.

well, it's Felger so that means it was definitely the right thing to do.

I'm not a huge fan of felger myself but I can't stand fake empathy either.  It's one thing to wish Horford well.  It's another to write an article to try to prove a point.  It's all phony when you really think about it.  Maybe there is some actual kindness in there.

When will Felger get fired?
