We're a really good 3rd tier team.  We should still win 55+ games.
OK, I am going to guess at this:

Tier 1:  Golden State, Cleveland  (68-75 Wins)
Tier 2:  San Antonio, LA Clips (60-67 Wins)
Tier 3:  Boston, Toronto, Houston, Etc. (52-59 Wins)

In this scenario, we are actually a below average Tier 3 team I guess.  And I will be stunned if we win 55 but we have looked much better the last 10 games.  Most of the wins have been against pretty weak teams but Indy was a nice win and I think the Knicks are better than people think (although Carmelo got ejected in the first period didn't he?).
I think that's fair.  Though I might even stick Golden State in a tier by themselves... in which case we might be a Tier 4 team.

I think we go
Tier 1 Golden State
Tier 2 Cleveland and San Antonio
Tier 3 Clippers
Tier 4 Oklahoma city if they still had Durant
Tier 5 76ers with no embiid restriction, healthy Simmons, Noel and Okafor off the team
Tier 6 2016 Kentucky Wildcats if all underclassman had returned
Tier 7 Boston Celtics
Tier 8: Marcus Smart
Tier 9: Trumps Cabinet
Tier 10: Public Events forum
Tier 11: John Oliver getting arrested for slandering Trump
Tier 12: Sequels
Tier 13: Weight Loss that is only water weight
Tier 14: Really old players like Baron Davis in the D league
Tier 15: New Orleans Pelicans
Tier 16: Chad ford
Tier 17: People in Barcelona asking you why you don't speak Catalan
Tier 18: People that said they would move to Canada but didn't
Tier 19: Vancouver Grizzlies
Tier 20: Thursday Night Football
Tier 21: Commercials for Fan Duel
Tier 22: Commercials for **** when two people end up in bath tubs in nature
Tier 23: 2 loss teams in CBS playoffs
Tier 24: When Jim O'brien got upset we traded Tony Battie
Tier 25: Robert Swift's comeback
Tier 26: Orlando magic
Tier 27: Patrick Ewing on the magic.
Tier 28: Blink 182 singing to teenagers in their mid 30's
Tier 29: Montreal Expos during the lockout
Tier 30: New England patriots running backs in fantasy
Seems about right

Thank you LB I appreciate that.

I'd argue there are four tiers:

Contending
Rebuilding/Improving
Stagnating
Tanking

Just so long as we are not stagnating I am happy.

Can't get excited about the calibre of the teams C's have beaten.

We have underperformed a little because of the injuries to Horford and Crowder.

10-7 is a 48 win pace.  We should end up better than that.  Also, we're 4th right now in the East behind Cleveland (obviously), Raptors and Bulls.    I still expect us to finish above the Bulls.   It should be close with the Raptors, but I still think we're a better team than them too.

1 3 vs .500 or better Clubs says it all..

Until Ainge grabs his b@lls and trades for a Wing shooter and or a legit Post up big to help Horford it don't matter if you win 65 games, you ain't sniffing a ring anytime soon..
We are not 1-3 vs. .500 or better teams. Where did you invent this number?

We are 3-4 including losses against the 3 best teams in the league.

Also, record against +.500 teams has not shown any greater predictive qualities than straight up w/l.

overall a poor troll job.

I'm not a GM. Nobody knows who is trade bait or who might be up for trade. To speculate is a waste of everyone's time.
What I do know is, The Top Teir teams are built through trades and Veteran FA signs. A good example is Toronto.

Like I said a few times already this season...get to 12-8 after 20 games.  That's on pace for 50 wins with an injury-plagued start.  I like that position.

Well that's good to know because the Celtics have a better team in place than Toronto.

Magic just beat Spurs in San Antone. Only conclusion? Elfrid Payton is better than IT.

clearly, if a reasonable trade was available where Danny could acquire that type of player that you want, he would have done it already. evidently, other teams are being unreasonable with what they'd want in return. also, trade discussions aren't even going on right now in the league. Dec 15th is the first day that players signed in the offseason can be traded. until then, you're not gonna hear anything important, rumor wise.

so, the best thing we can do is just buckle up, enjoy this team now that we're healthy, and trust in Danny Ainge. which, apparently, is hard for some people to do around here.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

what are you talking about?

Ainge signed Horford and traded for Crowder and Thomas.

Ainge has been one of the most prolific traders in the NBA the past 5 years and has signed Amir Johnson and Al Horford on the FA market in the past two years.

please make some logical arguments other than just blanket complaining because we arent true contenders yet.

We are in at least as good of a position as Toronto moving forward. Plus we have the same record vs 500and+ opponents.

Here is my ? to you with all sarcasm put aside.
The Big 3 era ended 4 seasons ago. Some would say the final 2 years of both Garnett and Pierce in Boston, both players were pretty much done.
That is a 6 year window. I'll give Ainge props for the Nets trade. My overall point is, this Team as constituted will not win a Ring anytime soon. How long do you wait?

Picks and waiting for a Durant to sign here or waiting on a pick to become the next Durant, Bird or Duncan is a waste of resources. This is why I say Ainge has some on this Board drinking the Kool - Aid. You have to TRADE to become great again.

Drafting the Smarts and Browns only delay the process. Most of the Top College Players enter the NBA way to early and the do not develop as they should.

Im not saying you Trade a top pick for a David Lee. Im saying you trade a Top pick for veteran talent and it does not have to be a Westbrook or Cousins type player...
