We're a really good 3rd tier team.  We should still win 55+ games.
you know when you say a word so many times that it doesn't make sense? ;D

The tone of the board seems to be focusing on how awful we are, IT not being a good enough passer, Smart not developing fast enough, we have the worst big men in the NBA, Jaylen Brown comparisons to other rookies/ need for more minutes.

You would think we were on a 6 game skid looking at this. In reality we have won 7 out of 10 with our only losses being to the Warriors on the road, a close home game to the Spurs and a one point loss to the pelicans when we were missing crowder and Horford. Meanwhile, 6 of these 10 games were on the road and 6 of the 10 games were also against teams that were in the playoffs a year ago. Why is there this sky is falling vibe right now?
you must be new to cb. welcome!  ;D

OK, I am going to guess at this:

Tier 1:  Golden State, Cleveland  (68-75 Wins)
Tier 2:  San Antonio, LA Clips (60-67 Wins)
Tier 3:  Boston, Toronto, Houston, Etc. (52-59 Wins)

In this scenario, we are actually a below average Tier 3 team I guess.  And I will be stunned if we win 55 but we have looked much better the last 10 games.  Most of the wins have been against pretty weak teams but Indy was a nice win and I think the Knicks are better than people think (although Carmelo got ejected in the first period didn't he?).

I don't really understand putting Cleveland and San Antonio and the Clippers on different tiers.
I think that is getting too finite and you are going to end up with like 7 tiers if you keep that level of detail. You have teams that it would not shock you if they won the championship and it includes those 4 teams. Any other team would be a huge shock.

While most of the wins have been against weaker teams, you could easily say that most of the losses were compiled when the Cs were missing two of their five starters and 3 of their 4 top big men. They've also played 3 more games on the road than at home.

Despite those setbacks, they're still one game ahead of where they were last year at this time (9-8). The Cs were 19-19 at one point last year and given their upcoming schedule I don't see that happening this year unless there are major injuries/setbacks. Furthermore, 29 of their last 49 (59.1%) games are at home. That's really nice given the weather and wear-and-tear on older teams. The Cs should be a lot fresher than their competition in Jan/Feb.

With everything that's happened they're not in a bad spot. I never thought the Cs would win 60+ games this year but if they're on pace right now to be as good as they were last year (48 wins) with the Crowder, Horford and Olynyk injuries then that's encouraging to me.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

I think that's fair.  Though I might even stick Golden State in a tier by themselves... in which case we might be a Tier 4 team.

in this world of yours, how many total tiers exist?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

1 3 vs .500 or better Clubs says it all..

Until Ainge grabs his b@lls and trades for a Wing shooter and or a legit Post up big to help Horford it don't matter if you win 65 games, you ain't sniffing a ring anytime soon..

I think we go
Tier 1 Golden State
Tier 2 Cleveland and San Antonio
Tier 3 Clippers
Tier 4 Oklahoma city if they still had Durant
Tier 5 76ers with no embiid restriction, healthy Simmons, Noel and Okafor off the team
Tier 6 2016 Kentucky Wildcats if all underclassman had returned
Tier 7 Boston Celtics
Tier 8: Marcus Smart
Tier 9: Trumps Cabinet
Tier 10: Public Events forum
Tier 11: John Oliver getting arrested for slandering Trump
Tier 12: Sequels
Tier 13: Weight Loss that is only water weight
Tier 14: Really old players like Baron Davis in the D league
Tier 15: New Orleans Pelicans
Tier 16: Chad ford
Tier 17: People in Barcelona asking you why you don't speak Catalan
Tier 18: People that said they would move to Canada but didn't
Tier 19: Vancouver Grizzlies
Tier 20: Thursday Night Football
Tier 21: Commercials for Fan Duel
Tier 22: Commercials for **** when two people end up in bath tubs in nature
Tier 23: 2 loss teams in CBS playoffs
Tier 24: When Jim O'brien got upset we traded Tony Battie
Tier 25: Robert Swift's comeback
Tier 26: Orlando magic
Tier 27: Patrick Ewing on the magic.
Tier 28: Blink 182 singing to teenagers in their mid 30's
Tier 29: Montreal Expos during the lockout
Tier 30: New England patriots running backs in fantasy

ONLY 7 of our last 10? That's pathetic... We should be undefeated in that stretch. Blow this team up right now.

The Celts currently have a SRS of 1.02, good for 13th in the league.

They are 9th in Team Offensive Efficiency and 18th in Team Defensive Efficiency.  Their net efficiency is 2.3.

They have a +1.1 scoring margin.

I'd be interested to see what their ratings are when Horford and Crowder play.

I think it's safe to say we don't have a full picture yet of just how good this team can be when their main guys are all playing.

With that said, it doesn't seem like a stretch to conclude they are still quite clearly in the second tier of teams in the East behind the Cavs.  While I think they might catch up to the Raptors by the end of the year, right now they appear to be a solid step behind the Raptors, as well.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.
