Smart hits dudes in the nuts and mouths off, too.  Very hypocritical thread.  The majority here would excuse the behavior of, and probably love, Draymond in Boston.  He's strengthening their locker room with stuff like that and he wants to win (just like us). Also, we're not "desperate" so no needs to let it bother us.

I hate it when Smart pulls stuff like that and it's one of the things I strongly dislike about him.

Guys like Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley, Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard are proof that you don't have to be a total dick in order to be recognised / respected for your toughness.

Guys like Demarcus Cousins, Ron Artest and Rasheed Wallace are living proof that nobody likes an a**hole, even if you are really talented and hard working a**hole.

Draymond Green has well and truly worked himself into that latter category, and Marcus Smart (while not there yet) is starting to show flashes of heading in that same direction.  He needs to lean that you can play really hard and still be a good guy.

The only guy with an a**hole personality that I ever really liked was KG, and even then some of his antics were too much for me.  There's no need for it - just play hard, work your butt off, and let your game speak for itself.
great post cs and a tp for it. i really like smart, but the points you make are valid. sometimes i felt the same way about KG. needlessly acting the bully or dick in games.

i hope smart goes the correct route in the future.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I have been coming to this forum since 2004 and never noticed that you could use the word, 'dick.'  Thanks to both of you for that as the **** can get really annoying.  ;)

As for Smart, I don't mind it if he continue to be a 6th man type of player. One of his major team roles is to get into other players' heads. If he ever becomes a top 3 type player on a team, then he will likely need to play a bit differently since teams might target him a bit more. I would say that is one of main differences between Draymond and Marcus (even though Draymond still seems to be more of an actual dick to me - both figuratively and literally, if you include the instagram stuff  :P )

Are people really that thin skinned that Draymond talking trash about Celtics fans truly gets under their skin?

I couldn't care less what he thinks or says, his opinion is irrelevant to me.

But if you are truly bothered by Draymond's words or actions, than you need to disavow KG.  Same exact mentality, aimed straight at the hearts of weak minded fools.

But all of this leads me to believe that too many people today are just weak minded pansies (truth be told I already knew this).  You see it everyday in non-sports related matters, everyone is offended by everything.

Sad state of affairs.
