Fans didn't boo because Durant didn't sign with the Cs so much as they did because he copped out and signed with the Warriors. Which is why he's getting boos all over the place from fans (and former players) around the NBA. Draymond knows this, but he's a gripy lil *****, so he's gotta make his petty point over and over again in interviews.

Yup. TP
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

He's right, the Celtics fans are desperate. Desperate for another championship

Precisely what I'm thinking. And Draymond is a punk.

As for Durant, I respect his right to decide whatever he wanted to decide, and while fully recognizing that I'm wearing green-tinted glasses, I still think he could have achieved a deeper level of personal satisfaction (not to mention a greater basketball legacy) by choosing Boston.

Golden State already had one title, nearly two, without him. So even though he's been a big contributor for the Warriors this year, and likely will continue to be, I'm not sure he can ever escape the notion that he's a mere "hanger-on," riding the coattails of an already-successful team. Whereas if he'd chosen Boston, he'd have been the clear No. 1 guy, even with Horford and IT on the team, and would've been The Next Great Celtic, which is a high honor in the NBA world.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

His comment just reflects the fact that we have a large, bad-ass fan base.  That said, if we had him, it's possible we'd make the ECF.

His comment reflects his poor attitude. Being a cheap shot player he would have an opinion on this. When they asked KD about it pre game he was very professional and courteous to the Celtics regardless of whether he actually thought about signing here.

Classless. KD coming in GS just gives him more reason to run his mouth.

To be fair, KG wasn't a model citizen on the court and Smart certainly isn't... but qualitatively (posts, polls) those two may be the most beloved Celtics of last and current generation Celtics.  He's strengthening their locker room with this stuff which is exactly what they need right now.  Heck, if they develop some camaraderie out there, the rest of the league is in serious trouble.

I don't think Draymond knows what fans are. We're not his fans.

Green has no business mouthing off about the Celtics or their fans.

How many Championships has he won?

Smart hits dudes in the nuts and mouths off, too.  Very hypocritical thread.  The majority here would excuse the behavior of, and probably love, Draymond in Boston.  He's strengthening their locker room with stuff like that and he wants to win (just like us). Also, we're not "desperate" so no needs to let it bother us.

This country is fast becoming a Celebritocracy. Too much deference given to celebrities so much that we just elected one as president, while the last president aspired to be one.

Just because a jackass can run, jump, and put a round ball in a basket does not mean his social comments merit attention.

For the right players that's a positive.  Points to the passion of the fan base.  However C's fans do need to keep in mind that Durant can opt out of his contract after this season.  That said I'm not sure I want him.

Boo away.

I don't want KD here ever, period.  I don't care how good a player he is.

He is just another Kevin Love - a career loser who can only win by jumping on to the tails of a multi-time MVP.

OKC is playing pretty much just as well without Durant as they did with him, and yet Golden State have been less dominant now with Durant then they were last year without him.

Just goes to show that Russel Westbrook has always been the star and leader in OKC, not Durant.  I don't like Westbrook because of his quirky personality, but I respect the hell out of him because of his talent level and the fact that he plays hard on both ends of the court every night.

I don't like or respect Durant because no matter how talented he is, he acts and plays like a little B***h.  Kinda glad he never came here, I just regret that we weren't able to pull off a Jimmy Butler trade.

I hate it when Smart pulls stuff like that and it's one of the things I strongly dislike about him.

Guys like Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley, Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard are proof that you don't have to be a total dick in order to be recognised / respected for your toughness.

Guys like Demarcus Cousins, Ron Artest and Rasheed Wallace are living proof that nobody likes an a**hole, even if you are really talented and hard working a**hole.

Draymond Green has well and truly worked himself into that latter category, and Marcus Smart (while not there yet) is starting to show flashes of heading in that same direction.  He needs to lean that you can play really hard and still be a good guy.

The only guy with an a**hole personality that I ever really liked was KG, and even then some of his antics were too much for me.  There's no need for it - just play hard, work your butt off, and let your game speak for itself.

I'm tired of Green running his mouth like he's got the right answers. Bro get over yourself and act professionally.  We get it, you are aggressive and opinionated, but take the hint. No one wants to hear it.

Give Green  a chance this is his time of year, being the nut cracker.  Can't wait for him to intentionally foul someone as he is a paragon of virtue and societal norms.

Curry got booed just as well. Does that make us desperate as much and if so, why, Draymond? Eff you!
