This has more to do with Player A being supremely overrated over the course of his career.  Had he been playing in the modern era, I'd hope that bloggers would rip him for his inefficiency and chucking.

I got really scared and thought that Player A was Pete Maravich, who happens to be my favorite player of all time. He did in fact average 23.6 per36 over the course of his career, but it is not him. Go figure!
