Just announced on Real GM via twitter. Couldn't paste link, but see Real GM.

This is the big guy Ainge wanted to draft for defense.

Go to it, Danny. What the doctor ordered. Stein wants to play more minutes.

They are looking for guards. Maybe they'll take Rozier for him.

He doesn't excite me as nearly as much as Noel does. I'd do a Rozier swap but not much more, he is 23 and the Kings fans seem to hate him. They say he is bad on both sides of the floor and his coordination is terrible, but I think he'd be better in our system.
Warning: I am a Marucs Smart homer

Thanks for the info. Don't know much about him with the Kings. I know Ainge wanted him in the draft for defense. He was seen then as mainly a defensive guy. He hasn't been playing much lately, and wants to be traded.

Noel clearly is a more polished player, but Stein is cheaper and more controllable. They would probably have to give up less for him

His last name is Cauley-Stein, not Stein.

Like Adbul-Jabbar, not Jabbar.

so what you're saying is....we'd be trading for the next Kareem?

sign me up!
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I don't think you can call WCS a bust but then call Whiteside a "massive hit", Whiteside got waived after his second season (with good reason)
I'm bitter.

He hasn't looked very good this year in limited minutes, but he's still 7 feet tall.  He can't rebound any worse than our guys have.

Rozier and a later one of our picks for WCS is probably reasonable.  We will see if Sac is for real here or just posturing putting out feelers.  Seems a little early to be trading him no?  A lot of this stuff is teams posturing and you have to read between the lines a bit.

WCS is very raw at this point and doesn't do a whole lot for us initially either.  He does not solve our rebounding or rim protection woes.  Now he's a project.

Actually he's one of the worst Rebounder's available. Rozier and Bradley and Smart are better Rebounder's. Isn't that funny!

He will be a good rim protector though.

I'd take a project for a rim protection. We already had reclamation projects like Crawford and Turner before. We won't lose much by trading for him at this point.

I mean I know what you mean. I also think you know what I mean. In the longterm I feel comfortable calling Whiteside a success for a player drafted in the second round and I feel confident WCS will be viewed as a bust for a fairly high lottery pick. Could obviously be proved by WCS wrong still but I just don't see him having the tools to develop.

Tell me what you are reading there. It seems strange for a team to actually say they want to get rid of a guy. That is the opposite of good negotiating strategy.
