Rozier and a later one of our picks for WCS is probably reasonable.  We will see if Sac is for real here or just posturing putting out feelers.  Seems a little early to be trading him no?  A lot of this stuff is teams posturing and you have to read between the lines a bit.
Tell me what you are reading there. It seems strange for a team to actually say they want to get rid of a guy. That is the opposite of good negotiating strategy.

I think it's fake trade block stuff them just trying to guage his worth around the league. Maybe they are serious about trading him though.

WCS is very raw at this point and doesn't do a whole lot for us initially either.  He does not solve our rebounding or rim protection woes.  Now he's a project.

I'd take a project for a rim protection. We already had reclamation projects like Crawford and Turner before. We won't lose much by trading for him at this point.

Hey Mr. Dee that's fair enough.  I'd rather a more proven guy somewhat but I don't dislike Cauley Stein by any means.  He's got talent and is definately big.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
So would we rather WCS or Noel? I haven't watched more than a few games of each.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Read that last line again. One more time.

No matter how awful Boogie acts . They keep him.

I'm dubious about any team s reason to to dump a very high pick  BIG ...soooooo soon.

So now I just saw a CSN story tonite via twitter the Kings "plan to keep Stein for now." No wonder Stein wants to be traded. Kings can't figure out what to do with him. He doesn't match next to Cousins--like Okafor and Embiid. You got a big, don't draft another.

I would believe they are bluffing to gauge his worth. Makes no sense if they are serious about trading him.

just curious, but has anyone posting here watched cauley-stein much at all this season? his stats are unimpressive and his playing time is down. odd given his draft position.

can anyone who has watched him explain why? is the roster filled with bigs? is he just not a good player?

thanks in advance.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I haven't seen WCS play in the NBA but maybe James Young and a 2nd rounder is a reasonable trade?

Just my opinion but I think a young bigman prospect with his size and talent will cost us a starter level asset and a draft pick. He is a valuable commodity that teams will not give up without significant return.

My question is, will he be an upgrade over Zeller? I know he is cost controlled and all that but he is pretty raw by all accounts. He would save us money next year if he is good enough to crack our rotation.

Joerger. He's changed his role on the offense, Karl had WCS play as more of a rim runner.

He doesn't trust him. Karl let him play through mistakes last year, but Joerger has him on a short leash. Maybe he's not practicing well, but it'd be hard for any player to find consistency when his minutes are so sporadic.

Also, he's barely played with DMC this year who he played well with last season. Rondo's also gone, so less lob opportunities and easy ones at the rim.

I'd do Rozier, the rights to Yabusele, and the Clippers 2019 1st for WCS.  He may not be getting the minutes but he has talent and they're not going to give him up for Young and a 2nd round pick.  They need a player that can at least crack the rotation.  Rozier can give them minutes now and his departure opens up more minutes for Brown.  Add the rights to Yabusele and they have a potentially very nice front court of Cousins at center and Yabusele at power forward.  The 2019 pick will be in the 25-30 range so its really just icing.  I do believe that WCS is being seriously misused in the Kings system and would look like another trader Danny steal if we got him.  He may even be hiding an offensive game that's just waiting for the right system to let it loose.

WCS will be cheeper than Noel, he's still on his rookie contract.

He's very athletic, and a solid defender. He may be raw offensively, but on the other end of the court he protects the rim, and If given playing time, could be a solid rebounder.

His playing time has always been abbreviated because the Kings use Cousins so much. Given a chance he many flourish.
