IT + 17 brooklyn pick for Noel  and Okafor.  Done.  Fans are living in lala land thinking we are going to sway philly for less imo.  DA really needs to be aggressive too imo.  I don't think he is.

Shake it up. That's what this team needs.  So does Philly.

We give an all star on a reasonable contract and our best asset for two guys that can't play together with one being due a good raise. It is hard to believe this is not trolling

Can anyone reasonably fill the huge gap on O that IT will leave? This team is built to win and grow. Noel would be a great pick up but I don't know if it would help the team.

But in other news, I'm not super convinced IT is worth the max or near max. I mean, 20m/yr (probably what we'd have to pay him) seems like a pretty steep price TBH.

I was spitballing with the whole Okafor and the lakers pick for IT, but this trade is absurd. We give up the 2 best assets by far, we don't have a roster crunch, and there is no evidence that our 3 best players all play the same position. People don't want to talk about it, but most teams in the league do have Philly over a barrel. Especially now that it is clear that Embiid makes both irrelevant.

That was just the small bubble you call a brain bursting.

I'm no longer surprised by the bizarre obsession with Noel and Okafor.  And, this is yet one more deal that will never, ever happen.

Let's be real clear here: Isaiah Thomas is one of the top pick and roll ball-handlers in the league. This past summer the Celtics brain trust brought in the ideal partner for him, one of the top pick and roll bigs, who can roll, pop, and find cutters and spot-ups.

So now they would turn right around and trade IT for... two specialist bigs who can't, won't, shouldn't pass - one of whom just had a second surgery on his left knee (at age 22)?

In addition to sacrificing the near-term future and the goal of advancing in the playoffs, Boston - in this scenario - will also sacrifice its long-term future by trading a potential top-5 pick.

Anyone have a ten-foot pole?  Never mind, it's not needed.

There is no obsession with those guys.  I also think IT is somewhat overrated.  He is a good player and our primary scorer and I'd be hesitant to trade him but most of what you say is false.  Okafor and Noel can play together. The issue there is they  also have Embiid and want to build around him as well as guys like Simmons.

Okafor is also a good passer in a bad situation.  Noel is also underrated that way.  Both young players with some growing to do but with Horford here they would be allowed to do that.

I just made a trade proposal and said if that were the deal it would get done. Your response is telling though.

I question whether Ainge would make this deal or have the eyesight to do it.  I'm also all for being patient but the assumptions made like you can't panic are just assumptions and internet mindsets that are out there in droves.  I'm used to it.  I've been right before.

I just think being aggressive here is not a bad idea.  If you actually read what I said it basically is that.

Okafor is not a specialty player.  He is a developing  young big man. So is Noel for that matter. We would be different.  That's true.  We'd have legitament big men.

I think we can continue to develop guys in different ways and build other ways as well, but having legitement big men to build with is not a bad idea.  Ainge himself tried to trade up to get Okafor.

In order for a deal to happen it would probably have to be something like this.  I like it.  It's also a good time to make a deal like this if a deal were to happen.

Assumptions are funny though. How people respond is also telling. Way ahead of you in ways.  I have a mind of my own.

No, they can't.  Philly knows it. Philly fans know it.  Other teams know it. I'm sure Okafor and Noel know it. Everybody knows it.

This isn't something made up here. They can't play together. Stats and the eye test bear it out.

I'll assume I'm misunderstanding the second part I highlighted.  You aren't saying that panicking would be a good thing, right?

Right.  I just think being aggressive in situations is not bad but the internet sees that and uses that mindset like every situation is that, when that's not what I'm saying at all.

I also think Okafor and Noel can play together.  I don't care what the situation says in Philly.  It would be a different situation here.  It's how you utilize them.

It's like god forfid anyone have  a different viewpoint and it's suddenly an obsession and laughable and this that and this.  I don't know how you expect me to respond to that.

I like Okafor and Noel.  Good young players. If that's an obsession whatever.

Okafor and Noel also played together all last  year. Yeah they were just put out there but there is plenty of footage of them playing together.  Okafor was a rookie last year and Noel is young too.

Philly was not trying to win with these guys last year. They were just getting playing time. In an actual system that utilizes them properly they'd be fine.  Yes they are developing and  young.

The issue there to me is Philly had no set plan with tehse guys last year and this year they are trying to build with Embiid and most likely Simmons for their future so these guys are available.

It would also take a really good offer for Philly to trade them to us more than likely.

Ainge does stuff sometimes.  The internet gets in an uproar.  This is really no different.

How could I possibly do such a thing?  lol.  I'm also not trolling.  That's what I really think.  I just made a trade proposal that would actually have a chance of happening if people took their blinders off.  Bullies sometimes different but always the same. Someone says something different and it's always the same.

how about if we add the 17 brooklyn  pick plus IT for both Okafor and Noel?   No need to get the lakers involved.

Giving up IT is a bit much to me.  I'm of the belief Marcus starts he's a better scorer than people think but IT is still our primary scorer.  I'd rather give them rozier.

I'm not opposed to trading IT or next years pick by any means though if it equals big men.

I'd rather a core of Smart, Bradley, Jaylen, Okafor and Noel for the future than what we are doing now for sure.

Wait what?! Neither player alone can even fetch a Boston 1st these days let alone a chip that would possibly bring back Giles Fultz or Jackson. Oh and let's just give them IT as well...

Is this a joke?  We get essentially three top 10 picks for IT?  Yet people scoff at giving up the three Net picks for cousins?

ROTF**** at these threads.

IT and the nets pick next year for Okafor and Noel if you look at it is pretty equal. I agree fans are in lala land thinking we are getting these guys for crap though.

Listening to wyc he gets in these mindsets too why fireworks never happen.

Shake it up Danny. Shake it up.

I also feel in a way sending a message that no one is untradeable on this team would be good too at this point. It's early in the year but lighting a fire is what makes a good gm in ways.

Yeah we are a few games in.  Yeah Crowder and Horford are out.  Why not shake it up even moreso?

Shake it up?   After 7 games and 2-3 of the best players out for most of those games.   Knee jerk reaction much??
